What WDW resort would you never stay at and why?

I don't know about never, but I'd be hesitant to stay at a moderate. The whole internal bus system stresses me out. A whole separate commute before your commute to the park. A whole separate commute to get coffee in the morning. No thanks. We like values right now because we have small kids and everything is a 5 minute or less walk away. If we win the lottery some day, I'd consider a deluxe because being able to walk to a park seems like it would be beneficial. Right now, we use our hotel to sleep, shower maybe take a dip in the pool, etc. Convenience is key right now and the moderates seem too big and spread out to accommodate that.

This! This was what put me off OKW which otherwise was a phenomenal reosrt with probbaly one of my favourite settings and accomodations. Not so much getting to the parks but if you wanted for example to run out to grab coffee or whatever.

Old Key West and Saratoga Springs. Neither appeal to be as far as the whole look of them goes. They both look like glorified old people's homes, with apologies to all who like them.

The Grand Floridian is too formal for my taste. I've had many meals there, but I wouldn't be comfortable walking around in my swimsuit headed to the pool. It feels like you need to be dressed up and on your best behavior to stay there. I want a resort I can relax at.

As many have stated, I hesitate to say never. However, the value resort fall into that category. I would probably stay offsite first. I do not like the theming and they look like they would be crowded. Of the moderates, I wouldn't stay at Caribbean. Seems to get the worst reviews of the mod's. Deluxe is more difficult. I like visiting the Grand Floridian but wouldn't stay there. The EPCOT deluxes don't do it for me either and AKL is too far away (unless I rented a car). While saying all of this, I haven't really stayed at very many resorts as I stay at my favorites. I've camped at Fort Wilderness in a tent, stayed at POR, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary. I enjoyed each a great deal but the Contemporary is a little too expensive.

Plus, I have to bathe if I stay at the Contemporary. All that clean soap smell is so offputting.

This 100x over. While I try not to say never, the Grand Floridian is almost always the last resort we would consider. We also have eaten there many times and I just don't feel like I would enjoy staying there. I would feel like I constantly need to whisper (and we aren't loud people to begin with). I feel like park attire; khaki shorts and Disney t shirts aren't formal enough for here. We are DVC members and could stay there on points, and some of the features of the rooms look amazing, but I just think I would be stressing out about acting formal the entire time.

You really need to rethink staying there. We stayed in a 1 bedroom on points last year, and never felt out of place. The rooms are amazing! The shower could have fit 6 people with ease!!

First, I would stay at any Disney resort. To sort of answer the question though, the resorts that appeal to me the least are the ones with the dark wood decor, like Wilderness Lodge and AKL. I like the light and bright theming. As a Canadian, Wilderness Lodge felt like a hunting lodge in the Great White North, not something I'd travel to Florida for.

Well, I always said the one I wouldn't stay at was the Contemporary...but guess where hubby and I are staying for our upcoming trip?? Well, technically Bay Lake Tower, but still. We just got a good DVC Rental deal, and couldn't pass up the proximity to MK, since it is our first Christmas time trip, and that's the area we will spend the most time in. Still not quite thrilled with the lack of themeing, but I'm sure I will make it through :p

To me the most iconic Disney hotel. Always where we stayed when I was very little. The monorail running through is magical to me. Think of the theming as "Disney themed". Haven't stayed in years because of the prices. But I would.

I'm sure I will end up loving it...but given that the only other deluxes I've stayed in are the WL and Boardwalk-and I LOVED them both...it just seems that the Contemporary might fall a little short in my eyes. We will see.

If you were at okw you should have just made coffee in your room, faster and cheaper.

Im not a coffee drinker I was just using an example- a better one probably would have been for breakfast or a snack in the evening. We just used the room like any resort room, we wern't particularly interested in the kitchen facilities but as we are in the UK we recieved a huge discount at OKW.

Got it,you're on vacation and don't want to have to get on a bus or walk forever to pick up something.

Man tough topic... Having stayed at all but two resorts I know my choices pretty well. For each category I'll put one.
Value - All Stars, granted this is one of the two I've never stayed, I have visited many times and I just don't get a good vibe or feel for it.

Moderate - Caribbean hands down, possibly my least favorite resort.

Deluxe - GF, love visiting and walking around. Just did not enjoy my few stays there enough to make me want to go again. Great resort, just wasn't my taste.

I would say "never again" to the All Stars. I've stayed there a few times back when the rate was $70 per night and endured the tiny cramped quarters, the lack of any closet space or comfortable chair in the room to sit in while waiting for everyone to get ready. I've endured the walk in the rain to the food court to get a morning cup of coffee.

When we stayed at an All Star we laughed at the hordes of people walking with their refillable mugs. Mug Walkers is what we called them.
We were soon assimilated into the Mug Walking Collective(MWC). Part of my soul still walks between those giant plastic structures today...

My wife and I would love to stay at WL but probably never will because of cost. We spend to much time in the parks but we love the feel of WL.
