What time to drop off at Magic Kingdom?

So, DH and DS16 are heading over to Kennedy Space Center one of the days we are down. Me and DS7 are going to be dropped off at the Magic Kingdom on their way out. Do we just tell the parking attendant what we are doing and they will let us through? or what do we do? What time do we need to get there in order for us to catch the monorail/boat and be at the gates for opening at the MK? I'm really excited about this! It will be a whole new experience for me and DS7 plus I'd like for the other half of our group to be on their way as soon as possible.

I'm just not sure what the best way to go about dropping us off is. They will be coming back later in the day and will have to park then. So, HELP! please. :o

Thanks!

What if they dropped you at one of the monorail resorts and got to the park via monorail?? Just a suggestion.

I was going to suggest the same thing. It's probably a lot quicker and easier for everyone. Plus you get a chance to look round a resort and arrive by monorail - always good fun!

1) There should be no problem if they tell the CM what they are doing. I have told the CM I am going in to re-new a annual pass, and they have let me in for free (and yes, that is what I was doing)

however .....

2) You said they were comming back later in the day to meet up with you and would be parking then. If that is the case, then why not just pay in the morning when they drop you off. That parking pass will still be good later in the day when they come back.

Are you not staying onsite, and don't have access to WDW transportation?

And if you aren't staying onsite, another potential solution (aside from the aforementioned drop off at a monorail resort) is for you to be dropped off at any Disney resort, preferably the closest one to where you are staying, and bus from there.

I was thinking I've seen a guest drop-off area by the TTC before when we've driven to the Poly (around the kennels maybe)?

Monorails and other Disney transport run early enough to get resort guests to breakfast dining venues - you're looking at least an hour before scheduled park openings

If they are going to be returning anyways, later in the day they'd still need to park, so why not just buy the parking ticket in the morning and they'd not have to bother with it later... :)

We're not staying on site so I think we will go with dropping off at the Poly. Even though they will be coming in later in the day, WDW parking can be a pain and I'd like to keep this as simple as possible.

We've never had breakfast in the park before park hours. I'm sure you would need a reservation and I'm thinking I read where you would just give the CM the # at the entrance. So, if you are there early and are done eating early, do you just go on out into the park? or do they ask you to wait at a designated area until park opening?

Thanks for the help!

If you finish eating then you can go out into the park but the ropes will still be up in various places if it is not park opening time yet.

Good luck.

You can use the Kennel parking lot for a Guest Drop-Off. Though I believe the official Guest Drop-Off is just past that, before you get to the Polynesian (that area is also the Taxi Stand).
In both instances, stay to the right as you approach the MK Parking Plaza, and follow the signs to the Polynesian.

Unless you have a ressie or are staying at the poly, you might have issue getting there. When you get to the toll booths at the MK entrance, stay to the right side. Tell them that you are being dropped off at the TTC and you should have no problem. The other way is to come in on Vista Blvd which goes past FW.

Has anyone ever had an issue with being dropped off at the Poly? (just out of curiosity)

I have never dropped anyone off, but anytime we drive to a resort for dinner when we are staying on property even with our pass in the window we are asked for ID and reservation numbers at the resort gate. They might not have any problems with you being dropped off. I really don't know what they would say, but I would just walk from the TTC to the Poly.
