Am I the only one that realizes that GREASE SUCKS??? Really. I can't be the only one. I honestly can't see the difference besides that HSM actually caters to the audience it is trying to entertain. Grease throws in all the jokes like it was Family Guy, but for some reason it gets a free pass because it was on Broadway. It isn't funny. It isn't entertaining. It's "risky" for 13 year old girls -- and women that want to feel like "risky" 13 year old girls. What a load of garbage. Hairspray looks awesome though. I'll be going this weekend.

Like I said earlier, I just enjoy the music. But I don't care about the movie. Give me Gene Kelly or Julie Andrews any day instead

Disneyifed "Hairspray" I see no relation to it

But it is a Disneyifed verison of "FAME" both the movie and the television show version {it was set also in a school with singing and dancing in the hallways and classroom}.

I always thought the comparison to grease was way off.Fame is a much better comparison.your right.

it may have sucked to you,but I can still sing every song word for word when it is on,even most of the lines.So sucky or not ,for this then 13 year old(?).it was like musical movie crack.my husband on the other hand wants to vomit when its on-probably my singing,not so much the movie

You most certainly are not. I've never seen the appeal of Grease, personally. The one and only part of the whole movie I like is the song during the end credits. You are not alone.
Then again, I'm not big on musicals anyway. My favorites are Tommy and My Fair Lady (out of the ones I've seen)...and sometimes I can deal with Oklahoma!...only because some of the songs make me think of Disney.

In the US, maybe. Over here it`s as unknown as Ellen was 10 years ago. No the best choice for a resort dependent on overseas guests perhaps....

Are you kidding me, its far from unknown, the ice show starts this month going on a sold out uk tour. Cds in whsmith london sold out in one day of sales, the disney channel is constley boring us with adverts on it. When shown on bbc2 in may or april it had the highest tv ratings that week. Sadly it is very big in uk and yes as said before it is being plugged as the next big muscial to start touring over here after christmas.
