Hey, why stop at the Simpsons? Why don't we add MORE Fox IPs that don't belong in Disney World to the parks? How about if we replace Figment with Monkeybone while we're at it?
I'm with you, friend! I hope it doesn't happen.But what’s the point ?
Universal has had a Simpsons Land for the past decade plus why should Disney capitalize on something that’s been sucked dry already ?
Plus they have several IP that are not even utilized to their fullest potential and that deserve a proper attraction like the Incredibles.
Hmm.. could they do a full Bluey land. That seems more likely to me than Simpsons.I don’t like it, BUT like other people have said before if they went all in on properties that Disney owns I think it could give HS back a theme and make it feel way more cohesive that it does now, like if you want to add Simpsons fine but then give us a Bluey ride, an Alien ride, etc
It really doesn’t pass the smell test, does it?Lemme get this straight... and I ain't saying it's wrong, but... Disney, in an attempt to counter a brand new park from it's biggest competitor... is going to announce a land that is currently hosted in one of that competitor's parks? "Hey, don't look at our competitor's brand new park with all new lands and new rides, not plowing over any existing things, look over here! We're going to plow over existing things to add a land with hand-me-down IP from that same competitor! A reimagination of A LAND THAT YOU CAN VISIT AT ONE OF THAT SAME COMPETITOR'S PARKS RIGHT NOW!" Sounds like a bad idea. And please, the Simpsons should not be in a Disney park. They own it but it ain't Disney.
Yeah, I think Harry Potter has sort of warped theme parks and I'm hoping the idea that any new land has to be one huge coherent, hermetic environment dies off a bit. It seems to mimic the big studios' insistence on releasing only $100 million-plus movies that make or break an entire year at the expense of more and smaller movies at reasonable sub-$40 million budgets. Are they all bad, per se? Nope. I had seen no Avatar movies before visiting Pandora for the first time and I thought Pandora was incredible. But I really hope they go back to realizing new areas can be generally themed, like I dunno... Fantasyland, or Adventureland? I think the Villain's Land might be a move back in that direction, hopefully. It really doesn’t pass the smell test, does it?
I wish they’d dispense with the land obsession. Not everything needs to be a new land. Add like 4 new attractions to DHS and don’t worry about having them all from the same IP.
even if it did get built, maroon studios would probably be gone by now.If they struck while the iron was hot, we would’ve had maroon studios over there. A clone of car toon spin, a stage show where toons on the screen interact with live performers and jump off the screen and onto the set, etc. It fits with the “old Hollywood” theming one sees on the walk up to the Chinese Theater at the very least instead of being a sudden departure from that into the jumble of little mermaid/disney junior/Star Wars that it is now.
I still think they should do Toontown. Pack it with a bunch of small dark rides, a Ducktales E ticket, and a water ride themed to Steamboat Willie. DHS needs more quality rides for families with young children. It also needs a touch of classic Disney. If they struck while the iron was hot, we would’ve had maroon studios over there. Toontown would be cool, but I don't know if that would really be the most "appealing" option as we kind of had Toontown before New Fantasyland and idk how well would that fit DHS as it's more so a "You're in the movies" kind of idea for lands if you get where I'm going at. Though if they put Oswald there, then I'll be on board.I still think they should do Toontown. Cars will not be scrapped - the permits are already approved for filling in the rivers, and they just discussed it/provided new details a few weeks ago at SXSW.I have no idea how controversial this take is but in the event that the Cars mini-land at MK does get scrapped, maybe they could put it at Animation Courtyard? Idk how much space there is to work with because I was maybe thinking they could kind of make a clone of Radiator Springs from DCA or just make up a whole new location. Or maybe it just works better in my head lol.
I know, it was kind of a hypothetical idea I had for ACCars will not be scrapped - the permits are already approved for filling in the rivers, and they just discussed it/provided new details a few weeks ago at SXSW.
I was thinking they go full out. TT Fair was a miniland at best. Its only attraction was a kiddie coaster. Here they could go bigger than the Disneyland one. A handful of C ticket dark rides. A boat ride. Oswald’s Trolley going throughout the land. Maybe something Epic Mickey?I have no idea how controversial this take is but in the event that the Cars mini-land at MK does get scrapped, maybe they could put it at Animation Courtyard? Zootopia isn’t gonna happen IMO for 2 reasonsI know, it was kind of a hypothetical idea I had for AC
This part is unrelated to your post, but personally, between the idea of Zootopia or The Simpson replacing AC, I hope they go with Zootopia, The Simpson feels kind of like a waste to use it there, and while I don't really care about Zootopia that much (I don't hate it, I like it and all, just not as much as maybe some of you all would), I think they could do something interesting with that IP and space there.
only weird thing about putting toontown there would be stepping through an arch into the toon world, right next to a ride where you step through a screen into the toon world... I guess it's no worse than Star tours>Muppets>Star wars, but still oddToontown Fair was hardly a fully fleshed out Toontown like Disneyland has....and the CarToon Spin attraction is so much fun and very well done...also the longest dark ride in the park. That area could be the real heart of DHS...Things for the whole family to enjoy... flat rides, dark rides, maybe even a small family Baby Herman Baby Buggy coaster.....
