He’s backed away from his initial theory. He no longer feels that way.MickeyViews
He still believes this is Grand Avenue, even if he now thinks Star Tours survives
Do we know otherwise? It feels like the location of Monstropolis and “CarsLand” have been left deliberately vague … unless I missed new info whilst at work today. He still believes this is Grand Avenue, even if he now thinks Star Tours survives
We don’t. Jury still appears to be out on whether this ends up replacing Launch Bay or MuppetVision. Probably due to infighting with execs who don’t want to lose their offices in the old animation building.Do we know otherwise? Brayden… just go spend time bellyaching about Disney on the Blu-ray.com forums. I already know you do anyway boo
I think while twilight zone may be gone, tot is still gonna be “the Hollywood Tower Hotel”For any of the older DHS attractions, even if Monsters Inc (which looks decent on paper actually) doesn’t come for them, they’re being kept fattened up as sacrifices for Marvel and quite possibly the Simpsons/AniDom as well depending on Universal’s plans. (And no, not even RNRC and ToT are safe, given that I consider Enchanted Wish to be a retheme)
Yeah. Whether Disney will use the Shriki Utundu story or do something else isn’t clear. But with MV3D… it belongs in a museum.I think while twilight zone may be gone, tot is still gonna be “the Hollywood Tower Hotel”
Yeah. I really wanted to believe that muppets would be around forever, it seems like it’s eventually toast. It’s a damn shame. I was hoping for it to become Florida’s permanent “cult classic” attraction ala tiki room (bears isn’t really that anymore). I also wish moving it was possible, but the only plans for that was a magic eye move, that came with a potential plan of retheming imagination to muppet Labs, who lnows what would’ve happened to figment (which is a shame too, because a muppet labs pavilion at Epcot is SUCH A FUN IDEA). I do hope muppets can find life elsewhere if need be.Yeah. Whether Disney will use the Shriki Utundu story or do something else isn’t clear. But with MV3D… it belongs in a museum.
For real. I love that they give Dr. Honeydew and Beaker a booth at Food & Wine now. Hopefully that merch sells well enough to make an impression on WDI.A muppet labs pavilion at Epcot is SUCH A FUN IDEA
I'm sure Simpsons is as far as Disney will ever go in that de facto block of adult animation, in terms of park representation. We will never get Quagmire in the parks, and even Brian is a stretch. Roger is a even less of a chance then Quagmire... And King of the Hill, while not as problematic as the other two, is definitely less theme park appropriate. For any of the older DHS attractions, even if Monsters Inc (which looks decent on paper actually) doesn’t come for them, they’re being kept fattened up as sacrifices for Marvel and quite possibly the Simpsons/AniDom as well depending on Universal’s plans. They're not going to announce an AC expansion/makeover unless it's at their press conferences. Unless it's a HUGE IP (ex: Disney somehow acquired the LOTR park rights and is making THAT AC, which, LOL!), I just don't think Disney would do that outside of the August conventions.So... @lentesta is saying something big could be announced here when Epic Universe opens. What are we thinking this will be? @wdwmagic has previously indicated that an IP has already been selected.
Will it be Zootopia (eye roll)? Will it be, gulp, Simpsons? Or might it be something actually CROWDPLEASING?
With seemingly no response to EU I think by announcing this major project it would be a bold decision but a smart one as well. They're not going to announce an AC expansion/makeover unless it's at their press conferences. The only scenario I see on Disney announcing the AC expansion is that if it's a huge IP get (LOTR (LOL!!!), or they somehow wrestled Marvel or Simpsons (ehhh....) from Uni early) and they call a press conference early. They're not going to do something like announce a whole land in a blog post.
I can suspect they may start dropping crumbs about something else that might be materializing that might debut at Destination D23 though, especially if they wanna make the locals happy.
Someone over on the IU forums speculated that if Disney announces their fast tracked plans for AC, it would probably be done in a blue sky what if format. They're not going to announce an AC expansion/makeover unless it's at their press conferences. What optics? With seemingly no response to EU I think by announcing this major project it would be a bold decision but a smart one as well.
Why not piggyback on all the press that Universal’s brand new park is getting.
It’s only good for us theme park fans in the long run so I could care less about the optics of it.
Please not Simpsons.Someone over on the IU forums speculated that if Disney announces their fast tracked plans for AC, it would probably be done in a blue sky what if format.
Another person on IU who thinks it might be Simpsons said Disney's logic for doing it would be to force Universal to shutter Springfield earlier than they may have wanted to. Fine by me if it means we get Pokemon in USF before 2030.
And if Len is right and an animation courtyard replacement is being fast tracked, where would it fit in the first half of the ten year parks plan which is slated for completion in the 2029-2030 timeframe? I was under the notion that Disney was keeping the second half under wraps until D23 2028.
