I would like to see it rethemed to be WDW version of New Orleans Square. The difference between DL would be our NO square would be themed to the Bayou instead of the city. There could be a cajin/creole restaurant. Also there is plenty of room for a c or D ticket Princess & the Fro dark ride.

Being a huge Lost fan I would like to see it themed after the show but I don't think there's enough fans out there.

I think the time for a LOST attraction had saddly come and gone. Besides, I don't know about everyone else, but I seriously don't think the Magic Kingdom is where a LOST attraction would belong anyway!

I voted for plussing it. I think Tom Sawyer Island is classic Disney and with a little thought and cash (HA!) I believe WDI could really re-restablish the island.

How does this fit in Frontierland?

About as much as a Haunted Mansion does. Tom Sawyer's Mississippi can argueably be construed as maybe on the edge of the American frontier. Or maybe an oblique connection with Adventure Land; kind of a stretch but weirder things have happened.

Haunted Mansion is technically in Liberty Square. Unless I'm mistaken.

I'm trying to figure that out myself Mr. Morrow lol. Everyone keeps saying Pirate Island but that in no way fits the theme of Frontierland. Why do people keep suggesting it lol. Then when it happens the same people will complain how horrible the state of theming in MK is lol. I say leave it, it's a classic. TDO doesn't seem to care about preserving the classics (Tropical Serenade, JII, the original animation tour, countdown to extinction).

THe did Pirate island in DL and it is a terrible fit, I would hope they wouldn't do this in WDW.

You are not mistaken. Haunted Mansion does fit it's theme. A gotchic 19th century Dutch themed mansion in the northeast. Which is te setting of Liberty Square, the northeastern part of the U.S. when it was just the colonies. It goes perfectly with the colonial theme of Liberty Square. Tom Sawyer is about Frontier hence the title, Frontierland.

Just plus what it there. In particular there needs to be a reason for people to go to the island such as a restaurant or show.

With the foot print of the island being so small, the only thing that really comes to mind would be to make create an abandoned mining town to tie into Big Thunder across the way.

Give it a real ghost town feel. Then it could also sort of tie into the Haunted Mansion that's close by as well.
