What should Disney add to DHS?

I think they have like 90% of the park at DCA. It is DHS...just...better. The only reason I don't see them copy + pasting it is because it would deter people from visiting Anaheim because why go there if the same thing is in WDW? But, that's already the case with MK anyway, so I don't know if they care about that?

Do I think they could do better than DCA? Yes. I currently give DHS an F, and DCA a B; it's not perfect, but at least it makes sense as a park and is complete.

I think it would be awesome to have Carsland in DHS. I also think it would be cool to have the Grizzly River Run (or a similar ride) since it's a lot hotter in FL than CA, and IMHO you can't have enough water rides.

Star Wars land would be cool and extremely popular. I still can't figure out why they didn't jump on that yet? They put in an Avatar land but not a Star Wars land?? Who thought prioritizing development of a mediocre film with a one-hit wonder following was a better way to spend money than on a 40+ year movie phenomenon??:confused:

They have always wanted a water ride...how about a fully fleshed out Catastrophe Canyon water ride for the people who miss the Backlot Tour? :p

But on a more realistic note: is there any chance that Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin will make its way to DHS? Star Wars is more than likely taking Toon Town's footprint in Disneyland/the attraction will inevitable be getting the ax. Roger Rabbit basically was the ambassador of the park when it opened, it could be a good kids attraction. It would fit in nicely with the theme of the park.

For a financial situation... Star Wars land.

For my own personal needs..

1). A bigger Star Wars land with a live show re-telling the story of some of the best Star Wars scenes. About 45 minutes in an indoor theatre. More space for Star Wars Weekends and such as well.. But not too big of a land.

2). Indiana Jones-themed land. With the stunt show, add the Disneyland California ride and the coaster from Disneyland Paris for a nicely themed Indiana Jones themed area. That would be pretty awesome and would drive in a lot of people considering the Stunt Show is still so popular and the other two are more thrill rides.

3). Pixar Studios expansion.. Not Toy Story Playland.. but a Pixar Studios expansion. Move Laugh Floor Comedy Club to this new area. Scratch the Toy Story Mania expansion and make up for the long wait times by adding other rides. I personally believe the Toy Story Musical from the cruise ships would work well as a stage show here! When I saw it, I thought it was REALLY well done! Add a brand new adventure-ride themed to WALL-E.

4). Super Hero themed land. Not necessarily having to relate only to MARVEL. Any Disney hero-film. Put a Universal Studios Spider-Man/Transformers style attraction in here themed to Big Hero 6. An awesome street-show featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy characters.. And a new musical comedy stage show themed to The Incredibles.

I never thought of that before, but it could work. each "scene" in the rife could showcase a different water "movie" effect

I agree with all 4 points. I would personally love an Indiana Jones themed area, but I'm not sure Disney would pump money into a full fledged land for Indy. Everything else I completely agree

I know.. It really sucks. It would be pretty awesome! Especially if they reboot the series

You say a third as if that's nothing. That is a major chunk. Once again, Hollywood has been around for a very long time. Why does Pixar have to be so heavily featured? Aren't one or two attractions enough?

Hollywood changes too often for Disney to keep up with (or care to, at least), which is what resulted in this lost-themed park in the first place. What once was great, now needs a major change.

I'm not understanding why certain movies have to have their own land. It's not like there's a Peter Pan Land at MK.

Have you visited Carsland or Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Uni? Obviously movies don't "have" to have their own land, but themeing and entire area to a single franchise/movie can make for a pretty incredible experience as it does in both of my examples.

I'd be so happy with cars land. It's time to take out honey I shrunk playland - that movie is how old??? this park needs a new expansion so bad. watched our videos from being there almost every year since 89 and there hasn't been much really added since tower of terror and rocknrollercoaster street expansion. They lost the appeal of catastrophe canyon/backlot when they stopped playing up the whole "catastrophe" scene and made it ho hum.. The park needs to go back to being about "moving making" and get it's identity back. I remember feeling like I was in Hollywood back then. Now it's a choppy hodge podge. Seeing animators drawing and painting used to be so cool and people actually sewing costumes... Wish they had changed some of the scenes in the movie ride and not just the movies but atleast that was a start.

we all have heard repeatedly that cars land or Pixar land is coming and star wars expanding and I think those are probably what's on the boards if not already then as soon as the AK expansion for avatar and the night show finishes.

I haven't....not my cups of tea anyway.

But I stand by my opinion. I think it's a overboard to have entire lands dedicated to a single movie or franchise. And if the park is still going to be named Disney Hollywood Studios, then having one third of the park Pixar-related or Star Wars related seems almost like false advertising for me. Might as well just call the entire park Random Land.

Well, there's the rub. Either throw out the entire Hollywood theme, or go with films that at least already have some kind of long lasting legacy.

If these are not your "cup of tea", then you must not like themed entertainment. Cars is a movie I have little interest in, saw the first one once, and haven't seen any of the other related movies. Despite this I loved Carsland. There was just something about being totally immersed in a fantasy environment. I think you really need to experience one of these lands before you dismiss them as a bad idea.

Having 1/3 of the park be Star Wars isn't really the same as having 1/3 be Pixar. Over 1/3 of Magic Kingdom is based on Disney movies, so I don't see a problem with 1/3 of DHS being based on Pixar movies. Besides, we know the park is getting a name change, and dropping the "studios" part seems likely.

On the contrary, I love themed entertainment. I'm taking it very seriously here with the Hollywood theme. I agree that if these changes go through, they should without a doubt call the park something else. However, if the name were to stay, then yes these ideas seem to muddle things.

Then what about these lands is not your cup of tea?

Iger confirmed the name was changing.

I'll check out Carsland whenever I get a chance to go west. It will be one of the things drawing me to it. I would love to see something brand new though in Florida.
