What you are describing is the main bulk of the land which included elements that would have connected to the original, much larger Discovery Mountain. Eastern Fantasyland includes the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast plots, sizable but its hard ti imagine today's Walt Disney Imagineering fitting anything into them. The park itself has done well, it was just the convoluted scheme and massive build out that were problematic. That entire area - with the Hyperion theater/eating area and whatever circular building just south west of it - was just a placeholder that could be easily demolished for future additions. I actually think the entire northeast section of the park is entirely vague, including the eastern side of Fantasyland. It seems like that's the area where they did the bare minimum in expectation it be prime expansion space, which obviously never came because the park hasn't done well.
