What ride needs a refurbishment the most?

Thanks for the free psychoanalysis, Dr. Fraud.

I'm with you enough of this green crap!!! The reason I refuse to drive a hybrid is that most look ridiculous and they to expensive to warrant the small savings.

While I would never go out of my way to pollute the planet (mostly because I'm a huge Captain Planet fan) theses so called green policies are nothing but a power grab by the government. I support certain things but when I turn on the news and see that even though we pay through the roof for gas taxes the President wants to tax us by the mile! That is crazy left wing power grabbing descised as being green.

We have to take care of the planet but there has to be a meeting in the middle that's the problem. We can't be extreme left wing tree hugging communist lunitics, but we also can't be extreme right wing polluting animals.

What ever happened to the middle?

My objection to electric cars is that they just move the point of pollution from the tail pipe to the power plant. I live in south Florida and our electricity is obtained from burning petroleum. If I get a "green" electric car all I'm really doing is using more electric power which requires FPL to burn more petroleum to compensate for my additional use. How is that helping anything?

Agreed electric cars save on emissions but you are using far more electricity.

Just like recycling while new products will be made from those materials there are more trucks on the road causing more emissions.

Everyone needs to ride UOE it ands the right message that there is no one answer to the energy problems!

While I don't mind the green stuff such as solar, wind ect. I also want to drill baby drill and mine as much coal as possible. Also Nuclear energy is still the safest and cleanest.

We need more off shore drilling and less restrictions. It is the environmental policies not oil companies that led to the disaster in New Orleans! The oil companies were forced to go so deep that is why it was do hard to stop. If that was in shallow water they fix it in a day or two. We need to drill in AKaska as well.

That said we need to push forward into looking for cleaner and safer energy there is no one answer.

Also: Energy you make the world go around!!:D

Anytime, though I too don't really support electric cars as the rest of my post went on to say. I stand by my point they should just get rid of the ride since it will provide them with a large space to put more stuff in that actually fits into a certain theme and is better than the indy cars (can't be hard to do). At the very least, shorten the track (I know they already did it once, but do it again).

Agreed I say replace it with a Space KUKA maybe even Star Wars X-Wing KUKA combine Forbidden Journey with Buzz/TSM and have a super KUKA Star Wars shooter!!!!

I agree. I'm sick of this hippy green nonsense too.

Ok, let's cut to the chase here. Your saying that being environmentally responsible is all part of some giant hippie (correct spelling) agenda? If you allow me to extrapolate on your reasoning, I would think that you also believe that fatty foods don't cause obesity in our young. That being the case, why is Disney introducing healthier (hippie lingo again) food choices at their quick service areas?

Right, ok, so somehow you believe politics has to be the reason why someone would care about the Earth. This leads me to believe that you're paranoid or something, thinking the government has taken over the minds of every single person. Now I'm not saying the world needs to go electric (especially since we'll just be making pollution at the factories that make the electricity), but I do agree that this ride definitely either needs to be seriously refurbished or simply taken out.

Thank you for a well thought out intelligent response....:D

He specifically said Disney should do it as a political statement; he said they needed to "lead by example". Did you even read his post? I prefer my Disney parks to be apolitical. Also, the world's been cooling for approximately twelve years (since the El Nino in 1999); many in the scientific community have stopped referring to it as global warming and started using climate change as a reflection of this trend.

Please read the original posting again. It has nothing to do with politics.

Don't put words in my mouth via your "extrapolations".

Because it knows it can flog such food products at a far higher margin.

Its all about the money.

My bad, so without "extrapolating", Disney is a money hungry enterprise that cares little about the ozone (wow, and you almost had me convinced that I was a hippy (corrected spelling).

O...K...so, back to the OP's question...I agree with many posters about CBJ, PPF, CoP, etc., but really the biggest travesty IMO -- by far -- is JII. I can still go on the other rides mentioned and enjoy them but JII is not only not what it used to be, it's not even fun. It's heart-wrenching. That pavilion alone (the ride plus the extras) was practically a half day at its peak.

The slide projections outdated decades ago. The music is no longer PC.

Just my opinions, but I find it odd that an attraction that features faux gas lamps and is in Frontierland would be criticised for having a slide projection. As for the music, what parts do you think are not PC and why should they be changed?

I love the Country Bears. Always enjoyed this show, and the projector fits in perfectly considering how this is supposed to be a old-time stage show. It works marvelously in the ambience department in my opinion.

My guess as to what the 'non-PC' lyrics could be that the other poster was commenting on ...probably referring to the infamous 'Momma Don't Whup Little Buford' ditty that is sung by Henry and Wendall in the first half of the show....

Lyrics-

Momma don't whup little Buford...
Momma don't pound on his head...
Momma don't whup little Buford...
I think you should shoot him instead....
'BANG!'

Of course it recieves the biggest laugh from the audience during the entire show ( next to Trixies' reveal, and Big Al's appearence).
I can see how some parents of today might find it offensive. I always enjoy the crowd reactions to that last line...the kids all laugh, and older folks laugh...and older adults even laugh. The young adults however.....that is where i see some mixed reactions.

I love this show, hope it always stays around ...but it definately needs to have -

1. All the figures CLEANED
2. NEW speaker system

Everything else is just fine. Keep the original soundtrack...don't edit it to be PC friendly. Clean the Bears up and it is good to run for another 40 years.

Well, I'm not really a fan of the attraction myself, but I understand that a lot of other people really like it, which is cool. However, from what I've gathered from the above post is that some people apparently find the lyrics offensive or something, and I'm just as confused about that as the person who wrote the above post. People really need to stop being so uptight about everything, and I doubt anyone has actually decided to go out and do what the lyrics say. This attraction has been here for a very long time, and if the songs were really that bad Disney would've changed them by now. I do agree that a new sound system wouldn't be a bad idea, but don't go changing the lyrics.

Also, I heard that they wanted to put some type of new safety bars on Splash Mountain. I don't know if anyone else heard this or knows if it has actually happened, but I've been wondering about it.

The lap bars on splash mountain were installed, but don't worry, they're not intrusive at all. Their only real downside is that slowed down the loading process resulting in slightly longer wait times.

good to hear they don't get in the way, especially since I thought the ride was fine without them and it would sort of take something away from the ride if there were obnoxious restraints over you. The wait times aren't that big of a problem since that's one of the select few rides I always get a fast pass for.

1.Figment! I never got to see the very first version, only the Nigel Channing version with Figment constantly interupting him.
2.Please remove Nemo from the Living Seas because others want Nemo gone!
3.Test Track, although I like it, does not fit Future World well.
4.Can we make Soarin' a California-only ride and replace it with Kitchen Cabret or Food Rocks?

Well, at the time test track was almost like the future since ABS were just coming into the mainstream, and I don't think they're actually standard in all cars yet, which makes no sense.

Soarin' is fine there since it gets a huge crowd all the time, but it would be cool if they spent the time to add a few more films they could show so there would be a chance of seeing something different every time.

My problem with this whole part of EPCOT is that it seems like Disney ran out of money during development, and when looking at the Gemini Project plans it seems like this truly is what happened.
