There's a point when the middle of your vacation has passed, and you realize you've been there longer than you're going to be there. That's usually the saddest part for me.
I try to stay smiling on the actual last day, since I'm usually too tired to manage another one!
One Man's Dream...Every. Darn. Time.
I would have said the same, until I took my kid.Probably...for me...the monorail out of Epcot to head back to the TTC. I usually look out the starboard window up at Spaceship Earth all lit up in those lights against the night sky. In the background you can hear the whirring of the monorail motors and there's a little sway as the train travels the beam....and I usually think "I'll miss ya..." and then I guess I just hope that the next trip comes soon...I always kind of feel like I'm leaving a behind a home...or a family...or a good friend...
Which is probably unnatural!
But...then again...I'm taking my son (and only kid so far!) on his first trip...the availability of teary-eyed moments has just reached a potentially new high point...
I'll let ya know sometime...
Spaceship Earth during the Jeremy Irons years. I always got misty, and I still do whenever I listen to the finale score.
Watching "Wishes" on the ferry back to the TTC on the last night. Yep. It's actually kind of my tradition each visit. The last day I park-hop and then spend the evening at the Magic Kingdom, just so I can watch the fireworks from the back of the boat. And I cry because I'm returning to the real world for a while, and quite frankly the real world sucks.
I warned you about trying to steal some of my Dole Whip. One time this weirdo, Jimmy Bricks or something, punched me right in the face! That did make me cry, but not so much that I didn't open a can of whup ***.
I've only witnessed this ceremony once, but I have to say it was quite moving even for a Brit like me.At Flag Retreat in the Magic Kingdom when a patriotic brave American Veteran carries my Flag down Main Street USA . When I am in the MK I must be there at 5:00.
Your "Changing of the Guard at Buckingham" and the Tower Yeoman Warders do likewise for me. Cheers.I've only witnessed this ceremony once, but I have to say it was quite moving even for a Brit like me.
As a veteran this did bring a lot of emotion as well. Finally watched it for the first time in October, was very well doneAt Flag Retreat in the Magic Kingdom when a patriotic brave American Veteran carries my Flag down Main Street USA . When I am in the MK I must be there at 5:00.
