How about an ole style New Orleans "hole in the wall" sandwich shop. Hot roast beef with a lot of gravy on crunchy french bread, you know the kind that needs a lot of napkins. Fried shrimp and oyster sandwich , Hot sausage or Ham and cheese, or even a muffuletta ( if you have ever been here, think the kind you get @ Central Grocery). Hot plates of red beans and rice on Mondays, maybe even Fried catfish, or any type of gumbo. Just a thought.
I love the idea but the key to success is the bread.

Ever been to Ralph Brennan's in DLR's Downtown Disney District? They can't get fresh New Orleans-style French bread sandwich baguettes, so they serve "po-boys" on hoagy rolls.

So no thanks for me. I'll just wait 'till I get downriver to get my po-boy fix.

You are quite right, I Believe you have to have the right elements to create the bread. The right flour, yeast and humidity! But, since the company has record setting profits and will have land space in New Orleans ( since the cruise line is going to have a berth here), Fly it in! It's only an hour away, Right? Just a thought from an old fart.

Thai is legit my favorite food, so put me down for that. I think a wing place would be a good one too. ESPN lost it way before it closed, but a place with decent priced sports bar foods with a ton of TVs to bring in sports crowds is something I'm always going to push. City Works is a bit like that, but it doesn't have a sports bar vibe to me at all (and definitely doesn't have the menu I'd look for at one. Very good, but not a sports bar). Get something with 10 different wing sauces, Fries, etc. with a rounded bar to sit around and TVs for all those dads/sons in the area on a Sunday (bonus could be a Saturday morning brunch for Premiere League, think that's when all that is still on).

I totally agree...although I don't know the difference at all...i really enjoy Greek food, which is kind of similar to persian food (mediterranean I gather, not sure about that). Please educate me the differences in these foods from other lands. I'm pretty ignorant about all that.

Yeah. Me and my son used to spend a hefty amount reserving tables at ESPN Club for football games and some World Cup soccer games.

I really hope they open a restaurant where I can pick up a nice slice of cake on my way to Epcot for about $30. That is my dream as I stumble around the Boardwalk looking for somewhere to get something to eat without a reservation.
Even better is to cap off a night of binge drinking Around The World with a $30 slice of Carrot Cake. That'll give you something to either settle your stomach or give you something solid to expel.

I probably won’t be drinking around the world much in the future. I’ll be settled in with my shades and beret on and my goatee at the Jelly Rolls Jazz Club with some absinthe and reefers. Koool baby.

Come on now, Jersey Mike's cheesesteak is a lot better looking and I'm sure better tasting and looking than that.

Cheesesteak Hoagie.

When I was in college, my normal plan on a Thursday night after the bars closed was to hit the Grease Trucks (Mr. C's Munch Mobile was my go-to) and get a cheesesteak hoagie with two fried eggs added. I ordered them so often that once in a while they would throw some bacon strips on there as well for free.

Yeah, I can't eat like that anymore. My metabolism in college was apparently awesome.

I should have mentioned I went to Rutgers, back when the "original" grease trucks were there - parked up and down College Ave. Not located in a converted parking lot.

This was before the advent of the "Fat" sandwich. Fat Cats were always around (Cheeseburger with fries on it) but things like the Fat Darrell were not yet a thing. You could just add stuff however you wanted. A Cheesesteak Hoagie (A cheesesteak with the addition of lettuce, tomato, and raw onion) was already a thing. One night it just felt right to add fried egg to it. "Cheesesteak Hoagie with Double Fried Egg" came out and it was a thing of beauty.

I ate them on a almost weekly basis for the next two years. Never though to call it a Fat Dave :)
