What is your WDW EDC (Every Day Carry)?

I belong to another forum that discusses exactly what is important to have on your person "just in case", hence the concept "every day carry". But when I got to thinking about it, I guess I've never asked my fellow WDW fans what they consider EDC items. My wife and I typically have:

Canon SD5XX Camera (stored in a pocket or on wrist)
Jacket (based on the weather), tied at waist when 1100 degrees out ;)
Burts Bees Chapstick (in pocket)
Leather Wallet (in pocket)
Advil, Tylenol or something (in pocket)

...and that is about it whenever we are in the parks. But now that I am really putting some thought into this, I wonder if we would be better off using some of these "survivalist" concepts for Disney. So, my next time down (Oct 2009), I'm planning on picking up a few items for EDC in the parks like:

- Maxpedition Spartan Wallet (it's lighter, Nearly indestructable, and has straps to keep all of your cards and such in place if you happen to be upside down)

- Then I was thinking of buying some type of pack ... maybe like a Maxpedition Remora.

But I'm sure you folks have some recommedations! Whats your WDW EDC?

Victoria

Not old, just vintage.
I am definitely a WDW survivalist. I have a long list of things I never leave home without...and that list doesn't get much shorter when I go to WDW.

-chapstick
-advil
-debit card
-eyedrops
-camera
-camera lens wipes
-extra camera batteries
-hand lotion
-hand sanitizer
-hair brush
-sunscreen
-poncho or travel umbrella

I would much prefer to carry around some extra stuff than not have something when I really need it. In WDW I tend to leave my room very early in the morning and not return until late at night. I don't want to spend half my day wishing I had something that I left in the room.

I have a small purse with a really long strap that I picked up for like $8 several years ago -- it holds everything I need except my camera... which I go super-tourist for and have it on a belt strap.
I usually try to hide it behind me when my picture is taken, so this is the best I can find http://pics.livejournal.com/lilclerk/pic/003efwa0/s640x480

All I carry in it is the IDs/resort keys for everyone in my party, a credit card, a little cash, an extra camera battery, tissues, hand sanitizer and advil.

Aside from sun glasses, hanker chief and wallet with cash & credit/debit cards etc. A few years ago I purchase a pair of hiking/water shorts and received a water proof sealable pouch. This pouch fits perfectly into the pocket of a pair cargo shorts. I use it as our emergency first aid kit. When I first put the emergency kit together my wife laughed and asked “do you think you’re going into combat again?” The laughing stopped our first day at WDW when in the Magic Kingdom when she developed a blister the size of a half dollar.
My kit contains
2 Large band-aids
2 small band-aids
Moleskin
2 Alcohol wipes
2 lactaid Pills (DW & DS are lactose intolerant)
2 Imodien (In case they forget the lactaid)
2 Advil
2 Antacid
I also carry a small sunscreen clipped to my belt

Donald Duck

Tonga Toast Killer
CamelBak back-pack
poncho (Mickey of course, but wish they made Donald)
sweatshirt (yes, I get cold easily, even in WDW)
Pins to trade for Donald pins
hat
camera
wallet
watch
shades
napkins (lots of napkins)
Purell
tissues
notebook and pens

After lugging around a backpack in 100 degree August during our first trip and fighting over who was going to carry it, we travel as light as possible. We don't leave the room without....

Chapstick...I'm addictd
Camera that fits nicely into my husband's pocket
A few bandaids
Sunglasses
Cash
Driver's license
Debit card
Maybe a card with dining ADRs if I think we really need them.

That's it. I carry a small little wristlet that either hangs from my wrist or hangs from my belt buckle. Makes it nice not having to go through bag check.

My bag always contains

Camera
Wallet
Annual Pass
sunscreen
pen
autograph book
painkillers
rain coat (i never carry an umbrella, 99% of the storms are thunderstorms, so an umbrella becomes a dangerous object.)
Bottle of water.
Crystal Light on the go(sometimes)

We also bring a small cool bag with lunch/ snacks in it if we are coming from home rather than staying on site, so we only have to buy one meal on site.

I try to carry just the essentials: Chapstick, Sunblock, Wallet, Water Bottle, Sunglasses, Wet Wipes. I use an over the shoulder bag which I find alot more comfortable than something like a purse that you would put over just one shoulder. My main goal is to just be as comfortable as possible.

As little as possible

Wallet with park media & room keys, debit card, credit card, cash

Cell phone

Small camera

Depending on the weather, I may or may not bring rain cover.

I go all day in the parks as well - open to close. I guess my view is the opposite. I would rather not have to carry somthing around all day that I did not need. If anything arises, I can get whatever I need in the parks.

Wow...I'm surprised at the number of you that always carry chapstick. We've never brought it or felt the need to use it at WDW. The humidity keeps our lips moist. (plus the assorted drinks we bring and/or purchase)

We bring a clear backpack. (it's handy at security checkpoints)
In it we have:
1) Wallet with rooms keys and park tickets
2) Water bottle
3) Ponchos
4) Mini umbrellas
5) Sunscreen
6) Hats
7) Sunglasses
8) Digital camera
9) Video camera & batteries and mini discs
10) Cell phone

We like having a back pack so we can store those little items we purchase like magnets and antenna toppers and such.
Larger items we purchase are delivered to our resort.

I limit what I bring into the parks as much as possible. If I take more than this, I usually store it in a locker.

I take:
-ID
-Cash
-Disney Rewards Card
-Disney Visa
-Chapstick
-Camera
-Sunglasses
-Park Tickets
-Cell Phone

I figure if it rains, I'll buy ponchos in the park or just walk in the rain. Sometimes I put my phone & camera in a ziploc bag, and put that in my bag in case it rains.

This is great, I thought I was the only one!

- license, room card, credit card
- water bottles
- medications (advil, tums, etc.)
- nail clippers (one too many hangnails I had to rip off and suffer with)
- small Disney park books (Lou Mongello's trivia book, Imagineer guide, etc.)
- ponchos
- ziplock bag in case of wetness
- camera
- snacks
- sunblock
- It all goes into a backpack that has ample room for all the treausres I buy all day.

Agreed! I don't even use a wallet at Disney, I just carry, in my pockets:

- park media/room key, photo ID, credit card, cash, health insurance ID, cell phone, very small camera, water bottle strap

Wife carries a few things in her camera case for the family's use - sunscreen, etc.

Well my Disneyland list consists of a thin wallet on a string that holds all my money, tickets, fastpasses, and such...and my camera around my neck. Sometimes I skip the camera altogether and just carry a wallet.

And actually, my list is going to be shorter next time. When I was in Disneyland the other day I found this really neat thing that is a heavy duty clip that you can clip onto a camera strap or your belt or something...and attached to it is one of those ticket/fastpass plastic holders. So I'm going to start keeping all my tickets & credit cards in that from now on so I won't have a wallet at all. Just a little clippy thing attached to my beltloop and sometimes a camera if I'm in the mood.
