What is your 'I'm really here' moment?

I was listening to one of my Disney CDs in the car (yes, I do that) and the music from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride came on. I realised, as my stomach filled with butterflies, that the ride is my 'I'm really here at WDW' realisation moment :D

So, what's yours? :)

Most time being on these boards is like being there in the respect that were all fans. So even though it's not exactly like being there (duh), it's nice to "be around" people who get just as excited as I do over things that make most folks scratch their head. So being here keeps the fires "smoldering" so to speak.

When we check in to our WDW Resort and then again, walking under the train station at the Magic Kingdom!

On I-4 when I see the first billboards for Disney Parks. I get a thrill when I see Universal and Sea World knowing I am so close! I see the exit signs, and man I am there!:)

Exactly! When we see the billboards and the advertising for the SUNPASS for the toll road we know we are getting closer! I think of the old song "Anticipation".

When I walk into Spaceship Earth, put on my earphones, and listen to Jeremy Irons say, "Like a grand and miraculous Spaceship . . . " although it does make the 70's scene a bit confusing, the end of the ride is much better. Sometimes I even mix in Tomorrow's Child.

I guess that moment for myself and my beloved wife would also be boarding DME at MCO. When that bus pulls away, we know the magic begins soon and we'll be worry free til checkout!

No matter where we stay, when we go, or how we get there...I don't officially feel like I'm there and move past anticipation and pre-trip excitement until I make that turn onto MSUSA and have the Castle directly up the street from me. I'm also am not one to stop in my tracks at that moment...I usually just walk towards it like it's some big homing beacon. :D

For me it is a couple of things. When the plane is landing and the pilot annouces we are in orlando, walking through the airport to get to the magical express bus. And finally as soon as I see the Disney World arch I am like a little kid again. Just thinking about it is making me all emotional.

As soon as we drive under the Welcome Sign at the entrance. We have actually stopped and taken pictures. Much to the dismay of some people in the cars behind us sometimes.

Walking thru MCO heading to the waiting line for DME. Yep you see those CM's and those DME buses and you know you are on your way home! Love it!:)

It doesn't take a lot for me. I went into the Disney store the other day with my baby - it was the first time I'd taken her into the store. We have been planning her first trip for November. I got butterflies just walking around the store in anticipation for our trip! It felt like I was already there!

As for when I'm actually there - I think driving under the Walt Disney World sign makes it all real. :)

I have two. The first is driving under the welcome to disney world sign on western way. We always ALWAYS have the camera ready.
The second would have to be walking down Main Street the first time.

123 days!
