I was desperately trying to think of what sound makes me feel at home...

Most of my favorites are songs, probably because I can purchase the CDs or get them from Mousebits and listen to them any time I need a pick-me-up. I can't pick a true favorite so I'll list my top 10 in no particular order:
Illuminations, Spectromagic/Wishes, MSEP, Test Track queue, Space Mountain queue, Splash Mountain, Epcot entry music, CoP theme, Pirates of the Carribean ride, HM ride, and the Frontierland area music. [edit: just counted and that's actually 11, but we'll just say that two of them are tied!]
My favorite when I was younger was the Imagination song because I had a stuffed Figment and my mom used to make him sing whenever our trip was approaching.
The sound that really lets me know I've arrived is being on Main Street and hearing the trolley approach. Usually I'm in line at the bakery at that point, so I make my friends grab their pastries and go outside so we can all have that "clang clang clang goes the trolley!" song in our heads for the rest of the day!

I too love the sounds of Main Street USA...the music, the railroad.
But I think my favorite sounds is when we finally have reached Disney and the cheers from my family as we pass under the Walt Disney World Welcome arch.

ROE opening spiel. Poly lobby. any fireworks. The sound of the monorail whizzing above my head. Most of all, DME, because i wil be ther in 35 mnutes.

On the monorail, when the doors are closing, there's two chimes followed by a pneumatic hiss... I love that sound.
