The sound of the Lily Belle's horn

The Star Tours boarding chime (I sure hope they keep this). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5sjkjXPmz4

On the monorail, when the doors are closing, there's two chimes followed by a pneumatic hiss... I love that sound. :)

"Noooowwww approaching" on the TTA. And the Star Tunnel music here as well

Aww heck, while talking about the TTA... the clack-clack, clack-clack, clack-clack sound when you're making a turn

Illuminations soundtrack... 'nuff said. ;)

Crickets chirping at the Wilderness Lodge

The music when you reach the dome in Spaceship Earth

I'll second the Haunted Mansion foyer organ

The moody orchestration of "Yo Ho" in the caverns of POTC, accompanied by the rushing of water

:sohappy: Man this is great just going through everyone's answers and then playing that sound in my head! I love it! Makes me want to be there so bad right now ! :)p like that's some kind of change of pace for me or something, lol)

I have to throw your last one on my top 10 list as well... The first time i hear Yo Ho, brings the kid out in me

Bad news: That channel's long gone.
Good News The Music still plays on the What's On TV section.

So many came to mind, but I love the very light music you hear when you get to the Disneys Magical Express check in area at the airport.

Sounds strange..I know...

but my wife and I stay a lot at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Resort and one of my most favorite sounds is when, after a long day at one of the parks, I'm resting in my resort room, and I hear in the distance, the sound of The Electrical Water Pageant. I always get this big stupid grin on my face, and the urge to run to the beach and watch it! I Love it!

I've always enjoyed the bands playing Christmas tunes in the lobby of the GF every time we're they at the holidays....

This is something i've always wanted to try too. We've never been during the holidays, we have gone during Halloween which was nice. But one of these years we're going to bite the bullet and just go during the holidays. We've been deathly afraid of the crowds that we've heard are there.

Try to get a reservation for one of the restaurants there. That way, you'll have good cause to just enjoy yourselves without being overly concerned with the crowds. We ate at 1900 Park Fare last time, and spend the half-hour before our ADR looking around and enjoying the music. Then after dinner we strolled around the gift shop, the gingerbread house, and then had a family picture taken in front of the Christmas tree. It was a very enjoyable evening.

This is a very general answer, but my favorite "sound" is the background music everywhere you go in the parks. It's like having a vacation with a soundtrack.

I agree. We've always grabbed an early ADR for Crystal Palace and enjoyed just walking down Main Street, with the background music playing. I love those strolls....:)

Space Mountain's queue music. It's the first ride we do anytime we go to Disney.

Also, the monorail spiel, the old TTA spiel, and Future World music at Epcot.

Awesome tip thanks! I'm going to try and get an ADR for 1900 Park Fare for our next trip, so that way we can test it out and see if we like. If we do, well then the trip after that if we decide to go during holidays we will know what we're getting. Thanks!

Since this is on the topic of sounds, does anyone happen to have a high quality version of the monorail door opening 'dong' sound?

I love the warmth of the voice in the monorail spiel.

I adore all the music in Splash Mountain...including the queue music.

And I love the sound of splashing water from fountains, or rides.

I guess it's the "Innoventions Loop"? The music I hear around the Fountain of Nations and the breezeways in Epcot.

The music you hear entering Adventureland (some of which also plays at the oasis in AK) It always makes me bounce a little to the music. I always listen for it when I walk through there.
