What is truly your favorite thing/experience in WDW?

It's an overall feeling I get when I'm there especially when we are driving throug the WDW gates.
I had to grow up fast because my mom was diagnosed with cancer when I was 12-13 (I am 24 now). There was a large portion of my life where I had to give up things like WDW and marching band etc. as a result. When I'm there, I get to be young again, and there's just nothing that can go wrong, Everything is perfect and all my adult responsibilites don't exist anymore while I'm there. It's just bliss. :)

We need time for things to happen.
Are you going to ask me to pick my favorite kid now?? ; )
I really couldn't choose but just about every post here has covered something I love about being there, from walking past the "walking shamed" as I'm just getting to the resort, to driving under the sign to walking down Main Street, to early mornings.....I can't pick just one.

I used to always say "hello, old friend" to Space Ship Earth as we would walk into Epcot for the first time of our trip. My wife (then girlfriend) asked me why i always say that. I told her how it was my favorite ride (after Horizons) and that i grew up riding it and it was part of the magic for me to see "my old friend." She was not a Disney nut back then and thought I was silly. Now, about ten years have gone by and my wife now loves Disney and will say to me, "hey, your old friend is still here!", as we walk in. It takes all i have not to tear up. I just hold her hand tight and smile from ear to ear knowing that im finally "home". The fact that she now takes part in my silly tradition means the world to me and is a moment I always look forward to.

Great question!!! I miss EVERYTHING!!! Lol. I think they pump "happy gas" into the air so when you get home you feel that depressed feeling and want to go right back. Lol. Most of all though, I miss the little things with my wife like sitting down at the MK and eating a Mickey ice cream while playing a quick game of checkers. Of course The Haunted Mansion is greatly missed.

You see, I am 41 years old but up until two years ago I did not do roller coasters. DD decided she wanted to do them and rather than sitting on the sidelines while she and DW rode I manned up and started riding. I never would have found out how much fun it is to do together unless I let loose and was willing to step outside my comfort zone.

I too have only tried RnRC, Everest, ToT, BTMRR, Splash, and Space because I didn't want to be left on the sidelines while the rest of my family rode them. I am delighted to say that I now enjoy almost all of them (except ToT and Everest).

As for me, my favorite experience at WDW is that moment when Soarin' lifts off and the music starts to play for my first ride upon arriving at the Parks. Just hearing the music on my Nano gives me goosebumps.

I also love that the kids are in a perpetual state of joy, and there is no fighting or discontent.

I know this is freakingly strange, but I love the smell inside the rides. Might be the air conditioning, the machinery, the painting, or everything altogether, but it is one of the things that make me go "Yes, I'm at WDW and I must enjoy every minute!"

Its our family tradition to start and end our trips with Mk. So walking through the train station and seeing main street and the castle I know my vacation has begun. For 2 weeks no work, no stress, and no patients just happiness.

I love the arrival. Entering the lobby and being greeted and so far our room has always been ready..unpacking and settling in to our room. I love the mornings at WDW, finding a bench with a view and sipping my coffee.. I LOVE entering Epcot from the walkway from the BC, I love riding the monorail. I adore the lobby at the GF in the evenings when they are playing music. Hard for me to say which is my most favorite experience.. I am so thankful I have had these pleasures:p

Nothing strange there. We've actually had multiple threads about those smells on these forums.

Welcome to WDWMagic by the way! :)

Thank you guys!! Haha, I searched those threads and I feel really identified. I mean, those smells are not even on purpose. I guess it's the AC. It must be the AC. The great movie ride smelled so great last time (?) :p

Impossible to pick a single one:
-The first moment that you walk into MK and see the castle and have to hold back happy tears.
-The little butterflies I get when Soarin' is taking off and the music starts. (And smelling the water and the oranges.)
-Having conversations with random people around you and having them not look at you like you're strange.
-The music. Disney World has the best soundtrack ever. And listening to the CD throughout the year holds me over but hearing it in person is just the best.
-Not having to be at or think about work or "real life" back at home.
-Wishes.
-Watching the happiness of all the kids. And having such great conversations with them.
-Acting like one of those kids.
-All of the amazing food.
-Quality, clean humor.
-Being able to spend uninterrupted time with my hubby! :)

If I had to summarize them all- probably all the pixie dust and warm fuzzies that come from being truly happy being immersed in the magic and getting to spend time with the one I love!

I have to second what a PP said- the only thing I don't like is having to leave my puppy at home. But it helps that I know she's enjoying herself at Camp Grandma/Grandpa! :)

Coffee and a pastry with my dad at the Roaring Fork Cafe while everyone else is still sleeping. Moments and conversations that i will cherish forever.
