What is the WORST music at Disney World?

There have been plenty of music threads in this forum over the years, but I think it's time to switch to a minor key.

What is the WORST music you've ever heard at Walt Disney World? It can be current or past music, from any resort, attraction, or restaurant. It can be something that gets on your nerves because you hear it too often, music that was a poor choice when something else would have worked better, or just plain rotten music. Let's hear what you have to say!

I'll start things off:
I can't stand the queue music from Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. It's too loud, too fast, and is almost completely composed of shrill synthesizer whistles. Plus, it's horribly repetitive. It think it's about a 45-second loop that they play over and over.

The Test Track loop

The smell of Gasoline combined with rhythm that sounds like the involuntary shaking of a trashcan, is simply not a good thing.

As for the best, IllumiNations: ROE takes the cake.

TEST TRACK! I want to scream if I'm in the queue more than 10 minutes LOL. Even worse is they have the test track music on my disneyworld soundtrack!

I also agree that Buzz Lightyear is kind of irritating.

I find test tracks music more nerve-racking than annoying.

But for the most godawful music at an attraction I must cheat and go off Disney World property, and head east on I-4 over to Sea World. The Penguin Encounter music is like taking 3 hits of acid and going to the circus.

Now on Disney property I would have to go with "True Colors" from the old HISTA preshow.

How can you say any WDW music is bad? I love all WDW music. I used to play it 24/7 on drive down to WDW, but my wife put kibosh on it several trips ago. I am allowed to put original WDW cassette from 1991 now transferred to CD when we get on Turnpike at Wildwood. :D "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirates life for me. . . !"

I haven't been in the Test Track queue since 1999 (because I've gotten in twice since via VIP pass or through the GM lounge and thus have missed out on the best part, apparently :p ). . . but it SEEMS it would get my vote.

Worst music. . . at least song-wise. . . definitely goes to Goofy's Dancing Jamboree selections and those unfitting in the ENCHANTED TIKI ROOM - UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT.

Area Music? I don't think there are any area music loops I don't like. LOVE IT ALL! :) (But some are better than others).

Test Track and Buzz Lightyear's are the worst. They both seem too repeatative, and they are too basic. They both center around a percussion beat that stays the same thoughout.

The pop re-mixes of the classic disney tunes that they play (or at least played, I don't know if they do now) before Fantasmic. The POTC theme was NOT meant to be played to a dance beat. :fork: :fork: :fork:

I'm also not a huge fan of the Test Track queue music.

I guess I never really minded this one. I don't care for it, but at least it's not what they play on hold for WDW Information.

(Executive office phone BGM, however, play the REAL theme park tunes. :lookaroun )

And I really don't mind Buzz Lightyear. . . because I use Fastpass. :D

P.S. I really love the score to Timekeeper.

I haven't yet experienced Test Track, but will in December so I'll pack some ear plugs just in case I agree with you guys !

The Disney music that sometimes haunts my sleep has nothing inherently wrong with the song itself, but there is a story behind my feelings. I took my three young children by myself and went to Disneyworld many years ago. The kids were 1, 6, and 9. We were on the Carousel of Progress. We were I think in the third room when the ride malfunctioned and we were stuck for what seem like at least 45 minutes to an hour. I still sometimes hear "Now is the time, now is the best time..............

HELP !!

I agree the Buzz LIghtyear music is very repetitive, it dosn't really bother me too much because like Grizz, I always use fastpass, but I do see how it could get really annoying. Especially since that queue just isn't real fun to look at, and it's always hot in there.

I don't mind the test track music so much because in my experiances in that queue the music isn't too loud, and so unless I really listen all I hear are people talking.

That happened to me on several occasions. The first time, I think we were stuck in the second room for 4 play throughs. The last time it happened, I was down there with the band from my high school, so it wasn't too bad. After that, we sang the song the rest of the trip. Luckily, it was one of my favorite songs. I would've hated it if it were the song from the end of the Mexico boat ride (it's alright as you ride through it, but not to be stuck there for a long time).

I couldn't really think of one, but then I thought of my past trip last December. I went with my aunt, her daughters and their significant others. We were eating at Cosmic Ray's and my cousin's husband remarked on the music we kept hearing during our meal. It had a futuristic techno feel to it (duh this is Tomorrowland  ). After a while we just started cracking up about it because it kept annoying us. I don't remember if that's just the ambience music of Tomorrowland but I guess I'll pick that music we heard at Cosmic Ray's because it was really annoying .

OMG! The same thing happened to me about 7-8 years ago! It was the WORST!! And then once it started moving again it only moved halfway so we were stuck between 2 scenes listening to both go on at the same time. It took FOREVER to get out of there and even longer to get that darn song out of my head! I think we must have seen each scene about 3 times by the time we got to the end. I can't remember which soundtrack it was, if it was "Now is the time" or "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow". Either way, I could only tolerate so much of it. LOL.
