What is the theme of the TTC?

Relative priorities aside, in absolute terms, the whole of WDW should look magical. It shouldn't look like the rest of central Floida, but as a secluded realm. (And not a storybook one, but one guided by the spirit of EPCOT)


The highways, buses, sprawl, resorts ruined by DVC addition, construction makes one forget the impression WDW once made on the visitors. WDW shouldn't be a hell when going from one place to the next, travelling around WDW was once one of its major attractions.

I agree with this completely, I recall an overall sense of being transported to a different world in the WDW of the 80s , and while I don't dislike all the additions they have definitely changed the character of the park to make it feel a bit more like a large mall or suburb and I do hope that those in charge take more effort at integrating all of the elements of the world in future developments.

and don't forget all the topiaries which used to be around those beautiful floral tapestries...It looked like the EPCOT Flower and Garden festival all the time... and the topiaries were spread out all around the properties...Even one of a dragon that had smoke coming out of it's nose....Unfortunately a lot of the original wow is long gone. The TTC was always very modern clean and futuristic...not sterile at all... It look akin to the original Contemporary or the entrance to EPCOT buildings...Very John Hench Modern.... then they overlayed it with graphics and things. I am hoping at the very least, they create a spectacular new set of decor and graphics for the 50th... I would love to see the floers and topiaries return...
