I would think the ACTUAL disabled crowd would be very angry with the outright abuse of the system. We were just there 5/28-6/3 and saw (and waited for) so many"handicapped" and their entourage of ten people. It got SO aggravating!!! Anybody else have this problem? I think Disney should require a doctor note or SOMETHING!!!

Quite off-topic, but....

We've gone with a family of 7-8 (depends on if they bring a nanny or two with) for the past 4 years. The premise of the trip is to allow this family's terminally ill child to enjoy the parks. He is pretty much tied to his chair, but he can be off of it long enough to ride most rides (ventilator is on his chair). Her husband is also wheelchair-bound. So, when we all do something like Pooh, or IASW, we routinely have 10-12 people. Or if riding Space Mountain, or RnRC, we'll have 6-8, including the wheelchair-bound child. We don't feel bad about "using" this person to get to the front of the line - my wife is a nurse who would have to care for him should something bad happen while in queue or on the ride.

Back on topic:

I want a Golden FastPass. :)

I actually had a Physician's letter my last trip. The CM at Guest Services didn't even look at it. She said "We're not doctors, so we just take your word for it".

That said, if a group has a person who, for whatever reason, can't wait in the stand by line, do you think it would be fair to split them up because they're not "all" disabled? Disney does the best they can, it would be impossible to do it perfectly and ensure that everyone was satisfied.

Golden Fastpass allows for Unlimited use of the Fastpass line at anytime at any attraction at any park, until it expires, if your particular pass has an experation date, that is! They have been given to people who get the 100,000th FP, 100,000,000 FP, etc.

Well not any park...
Only valid in the resorts where you received the Golden FastPass.
Not World wide, not Nation wide...

All you have to do is go to Guest Relations, make up a story of how your child or family member is disabled, and get a Guest Assistance pass. There instant fastpass. Seen so many people do that, its not even funny.

get ready to be stoned...

that is not something you suggest around here (kidding or not)...you will get bashed.

as well as the person who complained about people "skipping" them in line because they were with a disabled person.

Not a good idea though is it. That doesnt help people who need genuine disabled assistance, nor does it help the other guests who play fair and honestly.

I'd like to see this thread get back on topic. No need discussing ways to cheat the system, this is supposed to be about the "golden fastpass".

While I completely agree with your statement, asking or requiring a doctor note to prove a disability is illegal. You can't do it. With that being said there are some people who abuse the system and have no business riding around on those motorized carts etc. But back to the topic at hand...golden fastpasses.....

I agree. When we go to Disney with my nephew who has autism we use the disability pass because there is no way my little man can wait in a huge line like that. I do not feel bad one bit because when I go without him we wait in line just like everyone else. I don't judge the people using the disability pass because I don't appreciate anyone judging our family. Since I am in the health care field I know that there are so many diseases that have no visible signs. So yes I would get very upset with people lying to use a pass so that they do not have to wait in line and hopefully they will one day see the wrong. Okay I'm off my soapbox for the night.

Disneyland has actually cracked down on this abuse and do require info proving their disability. Why would you think its illegal? Not having the this info doesn't mean a person misses out on anything. This info gets a person special treatment, thus allowed.

Since we are talking FP here, anyone know if Kali River Rapids FP is independent of all other FP's(I heard this info on Inside the Magic)? Here at DLR GRR is, as well as Roger Rabbit.

I can just see the kiddies lining up at the Disney gates and rushing them to find the golden fastpass.

Think about applying for a handicapped license or tag. You definately need to show proof from a doctor in that case. I've been to Disney in a wheelchair because of Lyme disease. Wish I know about the disability pass then................oh well.
