Tiggersgreat said:I would think the ACTUAL disabled crowd would be very angry with the outright abuse of the system. We were just there 5/28-6/3 and saw (and waited for) so many"handicapped" and their entourage of ten people. It got SO aggravating!!! Anybody else have this problem? I think Disney should require a doctor note or SOMETHING!!!
Quite off-topic, but....
We've gone with a family of 7-8 (depends on if they bring a nanny or two with) for the past 4 years. The premise of the trip is to allow this family's terminally ill child to enjoy the parks. He is pretty much tied to his chair, but he can be off of it long enough to ride most rides (ventilator is on his chair). Her husband is also wheelchair-bound. So, when we all do something like Pooh, or IASW, we routinely have 10-12 people. Or if riding Space Mountain, or RnRC, we'll have 6-8, including the wheelchair-bound child. We don't feel bad about "using" this person to get to the front of the line - my wife is a nurse who would have to care for him should something bad happen while in queue or on the ride.
