What is a Dole Whip?

The year 2007 was a great Dole whip year for me. Went to Hawaii and the Dole plantation and I had a coupon for buy one get one free and since hubby doesn't like them I had to eat two! Then went to Disneyland got one there and I was able to take it into the Tiki Room and wat it there while I watched the show! Now only 17 days until I can get another heavenly pineapple creation in my belly!

Tried my first Dole Whip in December thanks to this board. It is now a must-do along with a dog & Coke (the best Coke in the world!) at Casey's. But I just might have to try the strawberry swirl as well! :D

LOVE the Dole Whip but I gotta ask........what is a strawberry swirl?:lookaroun
A vanilla/strawberry ice cream concoction that is tart and GREAT! It's at Enchanted Grove, right on the edge of Fantasyland next to Cosmic Ray's. In the people who have the most sense about them, the swirl beats the whip every time.

Touche! Same goes for the pineapple, which is why I choose the swirl.

I detest the taste of pineapple - in fact I'd go so far as to say I loathe pineapple, but on the flip side, I adore the pineapple dole whip. So to all you pineapple haters, I urge you to give the pineapple dole whip a chance - you may be pleasantly surprised.

I've given up on the citrus swirl, which used to be my favorite. Then someone had the idiotic idea to change it from frozen orange juice to orange soft serve, and it was ruined.

The strawberry swirl is very good too, but if I'm in that vicinity of the park, I'm going to go to Auntie Gravity's for a strawberry-banana smoothie. Best smoothies on property! :slurp:

The best attraction in Adventureland!

As yummy as the entrance looks, I think the climax of the attraction is best. A face-to-face encounter with...the sacred pineapple float! :sohappy:

I know exactly what you mean. I got a citrus swirl during my last trip a week ago, and I was honestly disgusted by the new citrus swirl. I had to throw it out and wash out the taste with a pineapple float (see above)!

I always get the float, but with vanilla soft serve instead of the pineapple flavor...it is amazing!!! I love pineapple, but the original version is a little to tangy on my citrus-sensitive stomach. Vanilla helps tone it down a little without totally ruining the experience.

Not old, just vintage.

I prefer the float too. Same effect only easier to eat. It doesn't melt as fast and the plastic cup helps contain the drippiness better too. Plus, I love pineapple juice so it is a win/win situation. On my trip last week I didn't let pouring rain and 50 degree weather stop me in my pursuit to Dole Whip nirvana!

I have to agree, I tried it last month for the first time and it was alright, not bad at all, but not a must do.

I am glad I tried it and probably will try again but it will just be place and timing.

Same here. I have had them a couple of times. Not bad, but nothing to write home (or post about).

But then I don't think churros are all that great either, so what do I know :D
