What is a Beverly?

Beverly the drink can be found at club cool at epcot, or italy. basically its a sweet drink that is the italian version of coke

World of Coke in Atlanta also has it, along with a much wider selection of international Coke products than Club Cool.

Though I have never tried drinking nuclear waste, I would assume Beverly would be along the lines of what it would taste like. Takes the hide right off your tongue and it is a hard taste to get rid of or out of your mind.:hurl:

I don't think it's so bad. It's a simple palate cleanser; it's not like it's meant to be consumed like coke. Not as tasty of a palate cleanser as sorbet, but it does the trick. I think it's there so people can take a sip of it between each of the other drinks. That's what I do, at least.

You're right about the nature of the drink...but it is a Coke product, like everything else in Club Cool.

I believe that Mezo Mix is the only drink in club cool that can be purchased in the US and that is on line only.

There are various versions of the apple soda from Mexico out there...not the same brand as you would get at Epcot, but they taste similar. I tend to find them at 99 cent type stores.

Beverly is a disgusting beverage from Italy that Italians drink before a meal. It tastes really bad, and it has a terrible bitter aftertaste, but it is interesting to try.

It's also similar to the black licorice liquer apertif from Hungary called Unicum. Yeah, and I guess if you are not Eastern European (like me), Beverly tastes weird.

But I like it.

Oh, it is just rancid. NASTY!! I have yet to hear ONE person who actually enjoys it. Hello, anyone like it?? It is gross and you'll need to have a few chasers ready. Mexico's fanta is really sweet and fruity. Some of them are bland.

It is a really cool set-up.

It's not a thirst quencher. But as an aperiteif / digestive it is great. I like the flavor.

I dislike Beverly but I do like to watch people try it for the first time. Since I visited WDW before anyone else in my family everytime we go I have a picture of all of the people who have visited over the years with me (friends and family) trying this....its hilarious to watch and looks cool in a frame with everyone going through the same experience.

I don't dislike Beverly, I find it serves the purpose for which it is intended, to cleanse the palate. It's not something I would drink for refreshment on a hot summer's day. :shrug:

It's an acquired taste for sure, but looses some of its bitterness after repeated applications :animwink:. If your 'up to your ears' with sweet stuff, give it a try. (People who, perhaps, have a inkling for a dry wine might find the taste accomodating; it is an aperitif after all.)

Every year DD lets all my WDW bound students read her new "To Do At WDW This Year" list. She always plants "Club Cool...yumm" in her list. They ask her about it and she goes into great detail about its wonderful taste and says she doesn't know what she likes better, Dole Whips or Beverly. Once we arrive, we love to watch 10-15 teens all drink it at the same time......deliciously evil and priceless!:goodnevil
