What I think...as of today...for now...

Lee, a couple of guys on micechat are saying that the SWSA replacement ride could be a ride based on Tangled, Burtons Alice in Wonderland, Burton's Malifecent movie, or a ride that is changed whenever a new Disney animated movie comes out. Do you know anything about this?
Of those possibilities, I'd say (and I hope) that a ride based on Tangled would be most probable.

I never want to see Burton's take on classic films in Fantasyland.

And a ride that is able to change every so often with little to none downtime I'm afraid would be done with a slacking blueprint to make it easy to switch up.

Burton's Alice, though I did like it, doesn't really belong in Fantasyland, in my opinion.... His Malifecent movie: same thing... Tangled?? Well, I don't think it will do good enough to warrant a ride... But, what do I know?? LOL..

My feeling?? If SWSA goes away and a new ride makes its way there, the ride will be princess themed... Of course, depending how long it takes to but in a new ride... By then hopefully Disney Animation creates a hit movie again...

Nuts to ALL the princesses. I say put a "Prep and Landing" dark ride in there! :D

That's hysterical! Seriously, there may be foundations to remove for the old "right angle" skyway before anything new could be done in the area. Just guessing.

If I remember correctly, it made its turn a bit further east, on the grassy knoll where Dumbo will be going. And then it spanned until it got outside the confines of the race track - I think.

Also seriously, I might add that there are some major utilities in that part of TL. There were permits filed for the replacement of some major water valves in that area last October. But according to their site plans, the only utility passing through the area that's fenced off is a gas line to the speedway maintenance garage.

EDIT: After watching a video, I see that there WAS indeed a skyway pylon in that little area, but I imagine it's foundation was removed when it was. They don't abandon things like that when they do a demolition project.

If I remember correctly, the fuel tank for the Speedway is located right behind the "Pete's Garage" restrooms. I'm not sure what they would do about this...I would imagine the Speedway would have to close for them to re-locate the tank.

I'm all princessed out too... I understand Disney is a business and princess business is good.. But, sometimes saturation occurs killing that business... Prep and Landing??? Is that the christmas special they had last year?

Sadly...no.
I've been out of the loop for a week, plus info has become very difficult to come by since I started this thread.

Do you know any information about water features being added in the Fantasyland expansion (Or otherwise features being fixed throughout the Magic Kingdom?)

I just went on Google Earth to see if they updated their satellite pics, but they have the blueprints pasted over the Fantasyland expansion site... Very annoying especially since they are the wrong plans.. LOL...

Yep. It's a wonderful special that got VERY good Nielsen ratings, even outdoing the perennial Rudolph The Rednosed Reindeer, which is somewhat phenomenal. And more importantly, it's very good. Has more real Christmas spirit and magic than any Christmas special since...well, Rudolph. And it's the first project from Disney Animation that really hit it out of the park. My idea is that a dark ride should be created from it - where guests are characterized as trainees for Prep and Landing squads, and as part of their training, they have to pass a simulation test (like the simulation tests the military uses in real life). Guests could be seated in cars that look like sleighs, maybe cars that run on overhead tracks a la the Peter Pan ride, and take a turbulent journey with the reindeer on Christmas Eve, dodging obstacles and struggling through a blizzard and finally successfully landing on a roof. Maybe the interior of the building could look like a wintry sky, with snow falling. There could be elf and reindeer AAs that greet and instruct guests. Ancillary buildings could house a candy/bakery shop and toy shop. It could all be AWESOME.

As I noted in another thread, I'm a Christmas junkie, and a lot of other people are Christmas junkies. If WDW built a ride as per the above, you'd couldn't keep me away! :xmas:

(And if any Imagineers read this, and are inspired by this, there will be no quibbling from me. I don't want money or credit. JUST BUILD THE THING. That'll make me happy).

He was right twice. Meet-n-greet and now the ride.

Whatever happened to this poster: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showpost.php?p=608412&postcount=45

:animwink:

That guy didn't sound to thrilled with the possibility of potter going to the MK. :lookaroun

It is so ironic because I was just thinking today that they could put a ride similar to the raceway attached to the Germany pavilion. It could even use parts of the show building. That way the ride (or something similar) would be available to the nostalgic. They could call it "Autobahn!"

Shouldn't be too hard to find a sponsor.

Of course the vehicles would have to be electic I think with sound effects.
