What I think...as of today...for now...

Liberty Square to Frontierland is meant to be change in location not a change in time period. The Haunted Mansion and Columbia Harbor House are supposed to be from New England. The change in pathway near Diamond Horshoe/Advland restrooms is meant to symbolize the Mississippi River.
Keeping this in mind and comparing it to this picture, the attractions fit roughly in their park locations as they move across the country.

I don't find things that far out of place.
I do agree that the location for Splash could be a bit better, but I don't see it as that big of a deal. (I know BTMRR should be a tad closer to Utah)

I'm pretty sure Splash is supposed to be in Georgia, not Louisiana. The [Georgia] red clay is one indication, but so is the fact that Joel Chandler Harris, the white author who recorded many of the Uncle Remus stories, was from Georiga.

I agree.

I would also move the Diamond Horseshoe from eastern Tennessee to eastern Colorado. That saloon is themed to the wild west frontier of the 1870's, I've always thought, same as the Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland.

But I love that map you created juan! It's such an interesting and enlightening tool to show how WDI creates themes that aren't neccesarily rooted in one specific place or time, and yet they evoke those times and places for the audience quite perfectly. You could add dates to the locations as well, to make it even more interesting. Thanks for creating that map for us!

A similar map could be created for the Fantasyland themes and stories, using Europe as the background map. Those themes are even more spread apart geographically and historically.

I think the point is that at one time Georgia (like those states comprising the Northwest Territory) was as much frontier as any point west of the Mississippi River....

Not much of a poster... just a lurker...but :)

Thanks Lee for sharing your information!

I am glad that the ride will take the place of the meet and greet. As a mother of a 13 year old, other than the LM and the BAtB restaurant, I didn't see much reason to enter the FLE. I am glad that the Dumbo area is off the beaten track... not impressed with Dumbo (ride or movie - sorry) and hate clowns... Now we don't have to venture over there...

Thanks again!!

No problem:wave:

I was just trying to show how you could almost overlay a park map onto the real USA map and the attractions would somewhat line up with their locations.

I'll post the disclaimer for Lee.

Even though everything Lee posted has been legitimately discussed and planned, nothing at Disney is 100% certain until construction has begun—Pop Century notwithstanding.

If any of this changes again, that's because Disney is changing it, not because Lee was lying. WDI is determined to make the FLE as good as it can possibly be, an attitude that once prevailed throughout WDW. I'm thrilled to see this kind of effort being applied to WDW again. :D

That's the one thing that bugs me about the Dumboland plans that Lee let us in on. Barnstormer being re-themed to 'clowns'.

Clowns? Gross.

Why not re-theme it as a version of Casey Jr.'s Circus Train? It wouldn't be as long as the Disneyland version, or even the faster Paris version, but it would work thematically. Heck, they already have the song from Dumbo for it and everything.

Casey%20Jr%2001.jpg

I completely agree. I LOVE Casey Junior and his theme song, and like many people have never been big on clowns!

And the clowns in Dumbo are NOT sympathetic characters. They exploit Dumbo for their own gain. After the iconic, touching, and tear-inducing "Baby Mine" sequence - arguably among the most touching and beautiful sequences in the history of cinema - comes one of the most chilling sequences in the film.

The clowns plot to raise the platform from which Dumbo must jump to a ridiculously high hight of hundreds of feet, and when one says that Dumbo might get hurt, another says "Elephants ain't got no feelings, they're made out of rubber". This right after the enormous EMOTION shown by Dumbo and his mother in the "Baby Mine" sequence.

So who's the real "human"? The elephants, or the clowns?

And there are actually people out there who consider this a "kiddie film"!

Appropriate for all ages? Yes. But a "kiddie film"? NO!

I thank you, sir!
If and when new or different information reached me, I will update it here.
Thank God a thrill ride is now confirmed in this expansion, now lets speculate and hope that more thrills will be added to this expansion to please more crowds of people in the region.

Robin Hood for SWSA

So, if SWSA is going to leave, how about replacing it with a Robin Hood dark ride? All kinds of characters that boys will love and there is even a princess, Maid Marian. Plus all kinds of merchandise. We can have plush toys, hats with little fix years, bow and arrow sets (the sticky, suction cup kind), and Maid Marian princess outfits for the girls.

And it wouldn't be too far from the Friar's Nook!

Please don't hurt me for using the forbidden word, but I was reading Jim Hill today and he talked about FLE and IASW and particularly the old FL skyway station. Lee, Juan, can you confirm or deny that anything may or may not happen/get bulldozed at the station and turned into something cool? It's very pretty but it is kind of a waste of space.

The only thing possibly moving into the Skyway would be M&Gs. Nothing I would call "cool."

While I do think that walking through Fantasyland as originally shown last Septemeber would be beautiful, I think getting an additonal attraction is much better than M&G's.

That being said, Lee do you think the exterior of the coaster will incorporate the dwarfs cottage to blend in with the other new areas in the FLE?
