What headphones do you use?

You calling me cheap?

:lookaroun

I think you meant Maxell's. :D

Yeah Maxell's! No I'm not calling you cheap maybe I am, I just usually throw my headphones in my gym bag and they eventually get broken from that. I don't buy expensive ones for that reason. But a $10 set every 6 months isn't too extravagant in my opinion.

Hello all,

I am having a little trouble. I am not ashamed to admit that I am addicted to my iPod while running. I can't run without my music of my Garmin.

My problem is that I am having a tough time finding a pair of headphones that can take the sweat I generate. My last pair, an expensive pair of "Sennheiser" headphones didn't cut it, about an hour into a run my left earphone would stop working. It's a real distraction, just when I'm in the groove the speaker cuts out and ruins my concentration. :brick:

So, I'm thinking of buying a pair of "waterproof" headphones, the kind swimmers use in the pool.

Have any of you guys had the same problem? If so what did you do to stop it. No music is NOT an option.

So far my nike vapor headphones have been holding up ... I think I have run about 320+ miles since I bought them and they are still going strong. I want to say they were like $50 bucks ... The shure ones I had before that were about twice as much only lasted me about 100 miles before the right ear piece went out.

Any other earbud recommendations? I prefer the in-ear buds for running. The apple ones suck. Went through my third pair of Skull Candy in less than a year. They stay in my ear fine, but from sweating, they stop working. Anyone know of any waterproof or sweat proof earbuds? What about the H2O brand? I also hate the way it seems all of the new earbuds have the volume control on the cord.

Frank, I am right there with you - a good pair of earbuds is very important to me and I have tried almost everything.

The best thing I have found is the yurbud covers that are sold at most large races. By themselves, they aren't very expensive and are worn over the high quality ear buds of your choice.

Even at the end of a marathon, they don't slip much or hurt the ears and they don't wear out or get disgusting when you've sweated in them.
