Can I get an Amen to no Avatar :sohappy:

I have rethought avatar and I have changed my vote from ''no!'' to wait and see... Mainly because I see disney is trying to appeal to a bigger audience and I applaud them but I sense they will make it disneyfied enough to kill the broad audience appeal...

Don't get me wrong I love Avatar I just don't think it belongs in a Disney Park

I wouldn't be surprised if Avatar went the way of Copperfields, beastly kingdom, and new epcot countries, hyperion wharf,etc..

announced, and never built.

Why wouldn't it surprise you? Iger has already thrown out 2015 for an opening date. Since it usually takes five years from blue sky until Johnny walks in with a balloon, it sounds like he's pressing the pace.

First off, Avatar will happen. No doubt.

Second, I am all for an Adventureland expansion. Sadly, I don't think we'll get a major expansion before WDW's 50th. Seeing mermaids come to PotC is likely IMO, as Lee said. I'm still not sure my opinion on that and how it would work, but it could be pretty neat. We'll have to see.

I think they should save the money an have it go towards removing the carperts

I will even donate some $ if they really need the money to do it! :)

And add what to compensate?..

The Adventureland plaza was really nice.... maybe add a fountain and some trees with some nice shaded places for people to "just enjoy" that Dole Whip (or orange!)..... this area od Adventureland is just too clausterphobic now.

Adventureland redo didn't sound too thrilling anyway. It basically would have turned it into Pirates of the Caribbean land adding a small coaster, redoing tiki room, and reopening the veranda as a pirate themed reasturant.

Adland? Nope. Some plussing and fixing here and there maybe.

And maybe the JC refurb finally. Before the water finally drains away. It's only 5 years late now.

What's funny, is you can go back and see where I made a thread about that not too long ago, and sugggesting that it was a good idea for the mermaids to have a slight - mysterious - presence in the caves (like a glimmer under the water, then one sitting on a rock in the shadows. HOW CREEPY WOULD THAT BE?! :lookaroun) and we all know Lee is an Imagineer. Merfie don't lie. :animwink:

Love ya Lee!

I do like that idea.. If they make it subtle and don't overdo, it could be really neat and CREEPY!

They could also somewhat recreate the scene from potc4 when they put a spotlight on the boat and the mermaids start popping up in the water to drag the boat down. It could be done in the big scene right after the drop.

I would think that in Jan & February they could drain the upper level of POTC and sneak in mermaid animitronics in around the initial cave scene....I would assume if the scene was done in a warehouse ahead of time, they could have them installed in a week or two?

redoing tiki room,.

"Don't be touchin' my Tiki Birds again, Thank You!"

They already tried that idea of messing with perfection and it did not end well...I doubt that they will mess with it again....after all The Tiki Gods HAVE Spoken and poor Iago went up in smoke, Literally and figuratively! :)
