What happened to Adventureland expansion?

Mistake me if I'm wrong I thought I heard months back one of our Disney insiders made a couple suggestions about a new attraction coming to Adventureland is this correct?

Obviously Fantasyland happened but someone said in one of the threads about a new attraction in either Adventureland or Frontierland?

I do recall a few months ago one of our insiders here said Imagineering were drawing up some blue sky designs for a potential future Frontierland attraction. Lee or someone? I forget who exactly. But it looked like it wasn't an expansion, but a closure of Tom Sawyer's Island to put some sort of raft ride there, like Kali River. Blue sky though, may never happen as far as we know.

The only thing i've heard the insiders discussing here in regards to Adventureland lately is that they're supposedly going to add mermaids to POTC in the very near future. Lee even said possibly this year. No major changes to the land or ride however as far as i know.

I'm somewhat doubtful you'll see any major new expansion until well after Avatar land is built, so possibly a good 10 years! That is assuming it is ever built.:lol:

So what about Tommorowland is that still going to remain outdated? Where in POTC are they going to add the mermaids? I honestly hope Adventureland receives some love it could use it! TDO have a heart!

I think the mermaid (or were there more than one?) was going in the beginning cave scene, before the drop. That's what was said anyways. There are mermaids in the newest POTC movie.

Ariel is already getting her new home in general I think they should save the money an have it go towards removing the carperts

amen! That said, they were supposedly going to being added to the Disneyland version during it's big refurb last year but it thankfully did not happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if Avatar went the way of Copperfields, beastly kingdom, and new epcot countries, hyperion wharf,etc..
