Ummm... when they publicly unveiled concept art.

Internal concept art is one thing but when.you show the public a single rendering, your.plan is pretty much set.
The didn’t really release that art to the public. They showed D23 guests the art but made it quite clear that it was still very early blue sky artwork and that the project was early in the concept stage. The art was never released or posted anywhere else.

note that while the art was not officially released, it was, in fact, posted everywhere

I think what he means is, they never posted the raw file of it. All images of that art is from someone taking a picture of a screen. It was never posted on the Parks Blog, only mentioned.

consider how common it is that anything, at all, is shown so early it might as well have been written on a cocktail napkin in an age of instant image transfer, is all

They have released TONS of concept art that has drastically changed over the years, if it was unveiled at D23 or not. The original New Fantasyland was all Meet n Greets and even had Pixie Hollow, and then they changed the artwork entirely a year later. The whole Hyperion Wharf concept for Downtown Disney/Springs. Showing artwork is never a definite that it will come to fruition.

This entire spine concept could be whittled down to a few extra trees and fountains in a matter of months, and only the few of us on the internet who care will notice.

I’m fine with that if the communicore/innoventions buildings get restored/revamped to their fullest potential...both in style/design and use of all available space.
