What do you and if you have kids wear in the parks?

We are leaving on Sept. 20th and I am starting to get organized on packing. We tend to dress a smidge nicer than shorts and tee's at the parks. I am very type A and want my family to look nice but also be confortable for a busy hot day. I even have matching hats and bows for each outfit for the kids! I have a couple of custom Disney outtfits and cute dresses from for my DD2 and my DS 3 wears Polos and shorts, same for DH. I usually wear sundresses, I know that sounds odd, but they are casual and IMHO they are much cooler. I also look very sloppy in tee shirts and we take so many pictures I don't want to look sloppy for posterity:ROFLOL:.That does not mean we are in our Sunday best either.
So my question, what do you wear in the parks?
Also does anyone have any good places to find some cute boutique Disney clothes for kids?

DisneyMarge, no you are not crazy! Part of the reason I like sundress, it that they are longer and I don't touch. I also try my darndest to keep my kids off railings and other devices in line because I swear I can SEE the grems on there. :hurl:
This will be out 3rd Sept trip and we are used to the heat, this summer in KY the temp are almost always in the 90's. DS seems fine in his Polo's and trust me he would let me know if he was not. Did anyone know of any good custom Disney clothes places?
I have found some cute vintage style things at, of all places Hot Topic in the mall. Anyone else find any differnt looking clothes?

Don't know if this is what you mean by 'boutique' but etsy.com is a website that specializes in all handmade items---which I totally support being a crafter myself. I would go on there and type in Disney or Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse under the heading, and there are always various disney childrens clothing on there (usually capri and shirt sets, or sundresses, etc) Very cute and very unique. You may have to go through a few pages to find some clothes, but I'm sure you'll find something you'll like. Let me know if you pick anything!

Here's what popped up when I typed in Disney:
http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_type=tag_title&search_query=disney

There's two cute sundresses right now on page 1- that may change as more people list more items---make sure you search through a few pages. Good luck!

I'm alway nervous about the idea of a skirt or dress at WDW. I'd be afraid of getting it caught on something or a stray gust of wind coming along and exposing all for the world to see! Maybe you could try more tailored shorts or capris and tees. Should still look nice.

If I had younger children, I would dress them in matching stuff every day there. Looks cute and easier to keep track of them! You and your DH could also coordinate with them. That looks nice in pictures. As my children are now teenagers, the very idea of matching outfits makes them stare atr me in horror:eek: .

The key words are comfort and practical. As long as you are comfortable and have good comfortable shoes on and your clothes are easy to clean, relax and have a good time!

I shall be there on the 20th as well. I am looking forward to it. As for how I dress I always have shorts and a tastefull shirt. Usually plain no logos but sometimes I do have logos. I wear nothing offensive usually. As for shoes I wear flip flops part of the day and sneakers the rest of the day.

We go for comfort wearing t shirts & shorts during the day. At night it will depend on what we are doing. We like business casual at night for dinner.

Ditto. I either do t-shirts or tank tops. I normally where my tennis shoes, but this year I am going to try my Disney crocs. We always dress alittle nicer for dinner, unless we don't go back to the hotel room. I usually do jeans and nice shirt for dinner.

My kids wear pretty much what they like but I always wear a light wool cotton/wool mix lounge suit with a yellow tie (if going to MK, red (EPCOT), blue (MGM), and tieless in AK

T-Shirt, SHorts, Sneakers, and usually a baseball cap. You can wear pretty much anything you want as long as it is not offenisve or too revealing. I believe people can be removed if their underwear is showing excessively(Specifically thongs, but this rule covers mens underwear as well). Also Bikini tops are not suppose to be worn except in waterparks.

I am much like the OP. I agonize about what I am going to pack for myself and my son. I usually wear a skirt, nice sandals, a nice tee shirt, jewelry, makeup, the whole bit. I have a couple of nice, not cheesy Disney shirts that I will bring. My son has some Disney outfits that I bought last time that he can wear this trip. I usually pack his Polo rompers for the other days. My husband always looks nice, but isn't as fussy as me. He wears cargo shorts and nice tee shirts. We like to look presentable-I have run into many people I know while on vacation-go figure!

In February, it was so cold we wore jeans, sneakers and sweatshirts every day. Thank goodness I wore my work sweatshirt to the airport because I didn't pack anything else nearly that warm and I really needed it.

Cole's Mom, you do sound like me. I loved romper and alway too them as the extra outfit for the day only need one thing to bring into the park that day.

Sewin in 2 Disney, THANKS!! I bookmarked it and am going back. Am also looking into the couture link. I am crafty and make all of DD 2 bows, and beaded jewerly. I am working on doing the socks with the ribbon trim, but they are not turning out too well. LOL I may need you help!

Plain colored T-shirt or polo shirt
Shorts - mostly cargo
Socks with good sneakers.
If its cold, maybe a sweatshirt (but still shorts)

I will not wear sandals / flip flops / crocs (though my kids do) My feet never hurt in them, but good shoes keep your legs much fresher. If it would not seem too strange I would wear my hiking boots and hiking socks :D

We are dressing for comfort...

Me - Disney shirts, shorts, capris, tennis shoes, thick soled flip flops, crocs
DH - cotton shirts, shorts, tennis shoes, crocs
DS (2) - Disney shirts, shorts, tennis shoes, sandals, crocs
DD - Disney shirts, cotton dresses, tennis shoes, sandals, crocs

Comfort is our key word!
