Haven’t been able to run since my move because I couldn‘t find the box with my running shoes. Even though I have found them, there is so much black ice at the moment it isn’t safe for running. I did however do a 5 mile walk yesterday. As we waited for the light to change so we could cross to the sunny side of the street (trying to avoid the black ice) there were two separate bicycle accidents. 😳

Tonight, I kicked off Week #15 of training on the treadmill. It wasn’t a nice day in terms of weather not impossible to run but also not comfortable. As such as I opted for the treadmill. It has been quite a long time since my last training session on a treadmill. Again, I am much slower on the treadmill (although I am doing better in this area) I also feel much more tired when on the treadmill. For this reason, I prefer to run outside whenever possible. Hopefully my next run, will be outside. Anyways here are the stats for tonight’s treadmill run. Little more then a 5K distance.

Time: 42:38
Distance: 3.24
Avg Pace: 13:08

Tonight, I did another maintenance run on the treadmill. Was a very cold day out so I moved my maintenance run inside on the treadmill. Same like last time felt tired but it wasn’t as bad as last time. Came prepared with a fan this time around. Little more then a 5K distance.

Time: 43:03
Distance: 3.24
Avg Pace: 13:15

Have I told you lately that I 👍 you?
I had a Hearing get cancelled last minute this morning and took the opportunity to finally knock out my virtual Disney Marathon (a day ahead of scheduled delivery of my medals!).

I was adding it to my tally/time records and, as it turns out, this was also my 50th overall race since I started running back in March 2019!

Since my first half marathon and my first full were onsite runDisney, I like that #50 turned out to be a Disney race too! (Not that probably half or more of the total wasn’t already Disney races, so the odds were pretty good, it would be something rD 😉)

Now to get some quality couch time, switch gears from runDisney to rumDisney, and fix myself a drink!

This afternoon, I completed this weeks long run on the treadmill once again. This marks the first time in the entire training program I did the entire weeks training on the treadmill. Unfortunately, the weather has been extremely cold here and while that isn’t always a bad thing it wasn’t really worth going out there when I could just use the treadmill we have on hand.

I am hoping I can return to training outside soon as it turns out it is looking like the temperatures should start to warm up. Not a crazy difference but hopefully enough that I can resume my outside training. With Princess coming up so soon I just need to be on top of the weather and temperatures and make adjustments to the schedule as needed. Hopefully, everything will work out as I plan to run everything on the day.

Anyways here are the stats for todays long run. This was a recovery week so it was on the shorter side. I was also supposed to do a magic mile today, but since I was on the treadmill I couldn’t so I just added a mile to my distance and ran it normally. It is also worth noting that was the last magic mile on this training plan.

Time: 01:06:38
Distance: 5.03
Avg Pace: 13:14

The stars finally aligned for me to be able to go for a run. Since it was only the second time I ran all month (and I didn’t do a lot in December) I kept it to 2.5 miles. I had planned to do a loop but found myself not having turned around looping until I had gone more than 2 miles, so once I hit my planned distance I walked the 2 miles to get back home.

Tonight, I kicked off Week #16 on the treadmill once again. Since my last update, the weather has gotten much worse here. I am starting to worry about the actual race weekend in terms of weather. If the weather doesn’t improve sometime soon it is going to be tough to run the race outside and not on the treadmill. I will keep a close eye on the weather as we approach the race weekend. Either way, I will be running the race sometime on or around the race weekend and honoring the challenge. It is just a question of where and how. I will also make adjustments to the date I will be running the race if I have to depending on weather.

Here are the stats for tonight’s maintenance run:

Time: 42:41
Distance: 3.33
Avg Pace: 12:49

The way that my weather is looking right now, it may be wise for me to run Princess next week instead of the actual race weekend. If I did this I would miss out on a week and a half of training but I would at least be able to do it outside which I prefer. I’ll continue to keep an eye on the weather. Nothing is final yet.

Tonight, I completed another maintenance run on the treadmill. I have thought about what I am going to do about the whole weather thing. I have settled on the idea I am going to leave everything as planned. Don’t really want to mess up my training and want to run the race on the date as well as honor the challenge. If I have to run them on the treadmill then I will, but of course the goal is to run as many outside as I can.

Here are the stats for tonight’s maintenance run:

Time: 42:39
Distance: 3.3
Avg Pace: 12:54

Anyone know of any good places to search for virtual runs? I've pretty much exhausted runsignup.com and raceroster.com for the next few months. Looking for affordable kids runs w/medals. Or alternately adult runs that have awesome swag + medal so I can keep the swag and give the medal to my DS.

So 10 days ago I was taking a few steps backwards from the entrance to a bagel shop and didn't realize that there was something behind me and I tripped and fell HARD on a metal umbrella stand. I landed with the pole in the back of my upper thigh. Couldn't sit for a few days from the bruising. When that healed, I realized I still had a lot of pain in the muscle in that area too, and I've been running a lot slower although the effort feels the same. Must have done some internal damage too. Ugh. I wonder how long that will take to heal.
But on the bright side, I got so tired of the aches and pains my new ASICs were causing that I bought a new pair of Nikes (my usual brand but a new model - Zoom Structure) and I love them. At least now my thigh injury is the only thing that hurts.

Congrats @Demarke on your marathon and your 2020 stats.

Thanks! And I hope your thigh heals up quick!!
