What did you do?

5k@1i@avg of 14:36. Total time was 45:24, PR. Yeah, I'm not the fastest runner on the planet. But my goal is to shave a minute off my pace over the next two months, if that's not unreasonable.

I ran 12.5 last night at 8:22 pace as per galloways training plan. Beautiful night.

Not going to lie tho- I am tired of these 'long' runs lol

I'm with you. I'm hoping the weather had cooled enough by the time my 14 mile run occurs late October.

Since I haven't limped or had pain for a few days now, decided to do an easy half hour walk on the treadmill. I resisted the urge to go faster into a slow run and so far, it doesn't feel as if I've restrained my hurt muscle so I might truly be recovered :). Will see what my osteo says tomorrow and maybe by Saturday I can slowly start running again.

@LAKid53 - thanks. Just got home from my osteopath appointment. I can continue to do the treadmill (walking) and this weekend he's ok with me doing a long walk (hour or so) and I'll see him again on Monday. Actually LIKING exercising is fairly new to me (always been a big walker but not much else) and I could now believe how good it felt yesterday just to do a half hour on the treadmill :). And I do have high hopes that next week I can lowly start running again.

2.25@2i@8:30 Shake out to make sure the knee pain didn't return, and it didn't. So tonight I get to run a 5k in what is anticipated to be 95-100 degrees. Hooray!

@JillC LI & @LAKid53 thanks, gonna be a hot one.

Just wait til your body starts craving it. I just don't feel right if I haven't gotten a run in for more than 2 days.

T-3, W-4, Th-3. Wednesday was turrible. You could see the 97% humidity in the streetlights. This morning was a bit more comfortable. Saw the stars clearly for the first time in a week.

My schedule says do a 5K this weekend but I might just skip that and keep the mileage going.

I want to be where @Swissmiss is....would love low 50s in the morning. After the deluge we got in Florida yesterday, the humidity today is beyond oppressive....

45 minute run on the TM for a distance of 3.01 miles @1% (TM kept changing incline... annoying) at an average pace of 14 something. Tried to increase cool down period and managed to erase the workout stats.

@LAKid53 - trust me, I do know that the climate here is pretty good - usually not too cold in the winters, and summers are rarely oppressive. I do feel for all of you when I read your weather reports!

22 and change for the 5k last night. Well off what I would normally expect to do on that course, but seeing as how it was still 94 2 hours after gun time, I guess I should be happy. News said 11 people were treated for heat exhaustion out of the field of 5,500. A bit high for my tastes. The fire department did show up with two trucks, one at approx mile 2 and one just over the finish line. Just turned on the hose/cannon mounted on top and just sprayed the runners. I'm actually surprised they didn't cancel the race, or at least tell everyone to just walk it.

Impressive under any conditions. Congrats!!

Keep on thinking that this week will be the week my knee is back at 100%. (Though it will be weeks before I'm at 100% distance...) Looking good this week. While the house slept I crept out for a 3mile jog and felt great again. Wanted to beat the 97F heat expected today…I pity you southerners who deal with this heat every day! :)

So moving forward schedule is 10k in the end of September and first ½ in mid November. I've had a 5 miler last week but my plan has really bee shot to heck. Not a lot of time and I was on track a month ago. Thinking now I'll only focus on 10k now and see where I am then in september. It always works out in the end.
