Today, in week 5 of my Galloway training, I ran a 5K in 19:54, first sub 20 since HS. I was 11/214 and 3rd in my age group.
Can someone help me with what the short hands here mean? I feel silly asking...
Be happy to. Which ones were you wondering about? Is it dreamfinder who has you asking questions? He does have a way of minimizing his workouts to as few characters as possible. LOL. For example, when he says "3@2i@7:13" he means 3 miles at 2% incline at 7:13 min/mile pace. Right @dreamfinder?
Are there any others?
Almost forgot to add, 2.8 miles for me yesterday. Left off the kinesio tape and knee still felt ok.
Glad you run went well. I took today off...after my long run yesterday. I know I'm supposed to rest days but inevitably I feel guilty not running.
I know. But it is hard. Looking forward to running a short distance tomorrow.Don't. Rest days are important to avoid both injury and burnout.

Knee wasn't in it today, so 1.25@2i@8 followed by 10min bike. Need to do more stretching/glute work again I think.
Yup. That's my shorthand, distance, incline, pace. Most of my runs end up being on the treadmill, so that format almost always works. If I do repeats it may end up looking like 3@2i (same thing) followed by 6x(.25@6+.25@8) which would be 6 repeats of 1/4 mi@ 6min pace, followed by 1/4mi@ 8 min pace. Or If I do neg splits, or something else completely, the pace section can go all over the place. 1@8, 1@7:50, 1@7:40 would be 1mi@ 8min pace followed by 1mi@ 7:50min pace, etc.
It is a minimalist format, but I use these notes as much as my run log as anything else. I'll usually detail the more interesting/unique runs but most people here hate the treadmill (I seem to be the only one who tolerates it) so I think they appreciate the brevity.
@JillC LI Glad to hear the knee felt ok. That's good news.
Couple of miles at an easy pace today. Knee is still bothering me, but doing better.
3@8:59 --then walked a mile-- 0.6@9:56(uphill) (working on my lingo…)
Oh, and I just signed up for my very first ½ marathon this fall, the (Inaugural) Cambridge MA ½ Marathon. And to think all of this is just so I can someday run in WDW...
