All right I'll be more specific: I would like a pavilion dedicated to the free and independant state of Ireland. Not to the United Kingdom. Although northern Ireland could/is part of that pavillion, I would prefer the place of my anscestors be givin fair gain, considering (most of them) are free of the Empire that has oppressed them. But perhaps in this case I may be of partisan opinion.

Oh dear another plastic Paddy raised on rhetoric about an evil Empire. when obviously they know al about their history which they hold sop dear.

1. Tattie famine, most farmers were Irish, but for economic reasons they sold to the UK while their country men starved. Nasty Brits making the Oirish land owners richer.

2. When this fair and free Republic was formed 36% of its population were non catholic, its less than 5% now, in the Balkans thats called ethnic cleansing. In Rhebel land its called promoting religion

3. The fair and free republic seems to be having a bit of crisis now that all is being uncoverd about child ______ abuse, forced adoption, physical abuse but clerics preotected by the state.

4. If your so in love with yout history youll be able to tell why the original tricolour was green white and orange.

5. Can you explain why so many of your downtrodden and oppressed countrymen continue to seek work in the UK when the republic is classed as one of the EUs tiger economies.

If you wish to debate politics feel free to PM me, Im sure people on here would be delighted to read the links of Oirish Repulican terrorists and their Middle Eastern pay masters and trainers.. But lets face it apart from the Craic, drunken binges, collections for the cause, child abuse and a couple of long dead poets what has Oirlann actually given the world, unless youre classing terrorism as a feature suitable for the world show case?

Now run along and read the how to play the victim section of An Phlobacht.

I think you completly missed the point of my post. In my opinion Ireland could be its own pavillion. Sure, it's impossible to deny the fact that the U.K. and Ireland have similarities, there is a culture to the Irish that I think can/should be showcased. And as I said, I probally am of partisan opinion on the Ireland/U.K. issue because I've yet to learn of the history from both sides, only blurbs of information which are most likely ment to try to incriminate the British, but oh well, knoledge comes with time.

No I think youll routinely find I argue against a UK pavilion as it dose not represent any culture that Im familiar with. What I took exception to was an derogatory statement. Knowledge only comes when false hoods are challenged, I only know some things because of a couple of books I read buy a republican author who challenged the "historic facts" as portrayed by other in the republican movement, as history was re written to further the aims of individual factions.

Nothing is black and white when money and power are involved.

I am not going to get into a flame war, but I think Ireland would make a wonderful pavillion!
But I really would like to see an Australian Pavillion!

Try reading up on your geography, or do you just ignore the six counties in the North? Ill try not to loose too much sleep about insulted Oirish especially those who the closest theyve gotten to Ireland is an atlas in a book store. Now run along and take your mock outrage with you.

Quick geography lesson: The U.K. is officially known as "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". Great Britain is the island containing England, Scotland, and Wales. Northern Ireland includes six counties in the Ulster region of the island of Ireland. The remaining counties in Ulster and the remaining regions on the island of Ireland comprise the Republic of Ireland.

That out of the way, I'd like to see any country from South America added to World Showcase.
