What are your most anticipated films of 2006?

I liked the village alot too. Many people just blammed it because they were dissapointed that the monsters weren't real. Couldn't they atleast appreciate the good story, characters, music, and beautiful cinematography?

As for Lady in the Water, it looks good, but the teaser didn't explain too much about the story and things like that, so I'll have to wait for the theatrical trailer to get a good sense of what its about. It does look good though.

This is my list ....

My top 3 are...
The Passion of the Clerks
Lady in the Water
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Others
Sin City 2
Mission: Impossible III
x-Men 3
The Da Vinci Code
Hostel
Ice Age 2: The Meltdown
Saw III
Cars
The Benchwarmers
Superman Returns

I also loved the village! The ending really blew me away. My husband on the other hand didn't like it at all. I might have to pull his arm just to see Lady in the Water.

My beef with The Village was a tad more substantive than "the monsters aren't real." In fact, it inspired a nice bit of discussion here when that movie was released. :animwink:

I don't keep up with advance movie schedules, so I never get excited about something until about a week before it's released. I like it better that way. ("Ooh, that looks good...and, oh, it starts Tuesday!")

My real anticipation this year is for the federal midterm elections in November.

Oddly enough, I went against my better judgement and made a New Year's resolution that I was going to try and be LESS cynical in '06.

(As you can see I'm off to a bad start)

:(

So about movies.....

That's what I was wanting... :lookaroun You two were playing nicely, but eventually someone would've come in and gotten this lovely movie thread shut down. :(

So... what else is Orlando Bloom going to be in this year? :lookaroun

I am definitely looking foward to "Dead Man's Chest" and also the Da Vinci Code. The trailer for the latter was very inteesting...and speaking of trailers....the one for "Lady in the Water" creeped me out just a smidge. I was like oh, a nice story about a building superintendent, oh wait...its a story by M. Night! :lookaroun
