It depends really on each visit. I can tell you this. I'll be going to Disney for the weekend. We'll be leaving right after i get off work on Friday. So Thursday night I'll be making sure I get my stuff packed. Then I won't be able to excited and I'll try to keep myself from just calling absent from work instead of going in for the day.

"To all who come to this happy place...welcome!"

The night before we leave we try to get to bed early because we begin the drive at about 3 A.M. However, it doesn't work that way. We don't sleep. We spend time laying there and talking about how excited we are. When one of us manages to doze off, the other thinks of something wonderfully Disney to say and sleep is a lost cause.
I get up 50 times at least to make sure everything is packed. I hug my baby puppy at least 100 times because I know I'll miss him over the next two weeks.
Eventually we doze off and get about 3-4 hours of sleep before making the big drive. Thank goodness for coffee! :slurp:

I am going to do a countdown for my daughter. I am going to fudge it up a little. I am going to put 10 papers on the wall and have her pull one away each day, but when the 10 day countdown starts there will really only be 7 days. When the actual day comes there will be 3 papers left.

We will kind of be like "Let's just go today." and get in the car and onto the plane.

So do we sleep the night before? I don't. My husband probally will, but will be annoyed my me wiggling and such because I just can't sleep!

The night before our arrival at WDW it's hard for DH and I to sleep but, we manage to do so because we'll be at WDW soon. We'll think of numerous things:

  • Not being at work for (fill in the blank) days.
  • Being at the happeist place on Earth.
  • Worrying that all the events/activities/reservations/room/etc. is all set.
  • Making sure we arrive without any problems.
  • Just wanting to be "officially" on vacation.

We also watch WDW specials/DVDs/Disney movies to keep us in the Disney mood. We'll talk about what we enjoyed on our last trip, what we're expecting on this trip, etc.

I'm so excited I don't really sleep. In fact I don't really sleep at all the whole time I'm down there. I keep making sure I've packed everything as well. I hope you have a wonderful trip. There is no place like it!
