Everyone has different traditions for the holidays. What are some of yours? I have made it a tradition with my boys to get up and watch the Macy's parade. Then we go eat fried turkey, mirliton dressing, oyster dressing, rice dressing, and polish it off with pecan pie. What are some of your traditional dishes?

Sorry.... Nothing exciting about our Thanksgiving. I usually wander off to a high school football game. We have the traditional turkey, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, salad, nuts, and pumpkin pie. :) And usually apple pie, and maybe my aunt will bring her to-die-for cheesecake. :)

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone :)

I'm planning to have a baked turkey (stuffed with dressing-haven't decided which kind yet), candied sweet potatoes, peas, and the rest of the usual fixings...

The main thing is to relax and enjoy time with family and friends, and be grateful for the time it allows us to come together with each other, and give thanks that we are able to enjoy a day like this.

We don´t celebrate Thanksgiving in Mexico, although there are several places to have a Thanksgiving dinner here, such as the hotels.

I celebrated it two years in a row with my friends from all over the world while we worked at Disney, with a very nice dinner cooked by the Americans, that I will never forget. It was sooo nice... :)

My sisters and my youngest brother will probably get together at my house since my parents are in Florida. My sisters are vegetarians so we will probably order take-out Chinese or they will make something out of tofu. Mmmmm... :p

And she's having fried turkey...yum!!! I can't be bothered to buy the special cooker, as no one else in my family likes turkey, but I always accept an invitation to partake in it if someone else is cooking. :slurp:

No sweet potato pie? I like the marshmallow topped type! :slurp: (is there any other kind? ;))

Marcia, there's no sweet potato pie to be had in these parts.... I don't think I've ever tasted it. But I like pumpkin pie a lot. :) Especially if you follow the Libby's recipe and don't add too much spice.... mmmm...

We had turkey for dinner tonight. I think it was a warm-up for Thursday. Personally, I prefer the leftover turkey and cranberry sauce sandwiches the next day to the actual turkey dinner, but that's just me.... (and I like the spiral ham we have for Christmas dinner even better....)

You haven't lived until you've had Southern Sweet Potato pie...side dish and dessert all in one!

I'm also a fan of leftover turkey and cranberry sauce sandwiches...my children think I'm weird!

To quote my grandmother, tell your kids, "Ah, you don't know what's good." ;)

And I'll definitely will be watching the Macy's parade, especially since (former New Kid) Joey McIntyre will be in the parade. :)
