Wow. Great stuff. You got to see them in the early years and in their home country no less.

I first saw them on the Zoo TV tour back in '92. I've been fortunate enough to see them a bunch of times since including 3 incredible Vertigo Tour shows.

I saw them twice on the Vertigo tour and both shows were excellent. My only gripe was they played almost the same set list the whole tour. They have so much good stuff they need to mix it up.

I have seen them a few times, not tons.

I saw them:
1983 War Tour - Dublin, Pheonix Park Race Track
1984 Unforgettable Fire Tour - Radio City Music Hall
1985 Unforgettable Fire Tour - Brenden Byrne Arena
1987 Joshua Tree Tour - Madison Square Garden
1992 Zoo TV Tour - Brenden Byrne Arena
2005 (twice) Vertigo Tour - Madison Square Garden

I have been spending way TOO much money on iTunes lately...

Next ones are:

Islands - Return to the Sea - 4.5 stars

Kings of Convenience - Versus - 5 stars

David Gilmour - On an Island - 4.5 stars (thanks for the recommendation :) )

Sam Prekop - Who's Your New Professor - 4 stars

Mobius Band - The Loving Sounds of Static - 4 stars

Federico Aubele - Gran Hotel Buenos Aires - 5 stars

The Boy Least Likely To - The Best Party Ever - 5 stars

Joe Purdy - Julie Blue - 4.5 stars

Neil Young - Living With War - 4 stars (was dissapointed at first bur grew on me after 2 plays)

Seu Jorge - The Life Aquatic - Studio Sessions featuring Seu Jorge - 5 stars (Ziggy Stardust in Portugese, what's not to love). I had been toying with getting this on iTunes as it is almost always in the top 100 albums of the day but was thinking I would not like it as I don't speak Portugese. Boy am I glad I got it. It is excellent!

This is a great thread. It sure does give you new ideas of who to watch and listen for.

Rolling Stones - A Bigger Bang
Aerosmith - Rockin' The Joint
U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
Rod Stewart - Great American Songbook, Vol. 4
Dave Matthews Band - Stand Up
Harry Connick, Jr. - Only You

Saw the Stones for the first time in January. What an incredible show. And, I was lucky I had good seats. Saw U2 just the month before that - also for the first time - and had good seats, too. There is nothing like a live show. But, as mentioned early in this thread, they are so expensive these days. The artists make sooo much profit and we pay through our teeth.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Just purchased the following

Operation Mindcrime II - Queensryche
The Great Divide - Scott Stapp (If he were Scots would he be called Jock? )
Return To Childhood: Live - Fish (he is Scottish)
Generations (Limited Edition CD) - Journey

Hope to see Journey & Queensryche at Monsters of Rock this summer. Saw Fish Tuesday evening, still a great night out, even if we are all getting a little older.

AND BEFORE THAT...

Say Anything- ...Is a Real Boy
Lola Ray - Liars
Yellowcard - Lights and Sounds
Acceptance - Phantoms
30 Seconds to Mars - A Beautiful Lie
Dredg - El Cielo
Sugarcult - Back to the Disaster Live CD/DVD
Taste of Christmas - Various Artists
Muse - Origin of Symmetry
Panic! at the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
Socratic - Lunch For the Sky
Mae - The Everglow
Death Cab For Cutie - Plans
Dredg - Catch Without Arms
Day at the Fair - The Rocking Chair Years

Sorry, I was on a roll...

i got it off this really nice woman off ebay. we kept in touch through emails and she was really nice. it says in her store that if you request anything specific she will do her best to try and get it for you. i asked and she got it for me and she ships it in a box while the cd is in a disney bag and the last time she included a OKW sticker -how cool was that!!!:sohappy:

i will see if i can find a link or something.

Cars Soundtrack - 4/5 Stars - Some of the lyrical songs are a little too "hokey" for me. But many of the songs (like James Taylors's "Our Town" and Brad Paisley's "Find Yourself") are AWESOME.

Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism - 5/5 Stars - Wow. I loved The Postal Service before I got this CD, so I expected to love it too, but I didn't expect to love it THIS much. My favorite tracks are "The New Year", "Transatlanticism", and "Passenger Seat". But all the others are great as well. I'd recommend this CD to anyone and everyone.

I haven't bought CDs in a while. The last time I did, I was in an 80's mood and tried to replace the ones that got lost or stolen.
So, my most recent purchase would have to have been:

Utada Hikaru: Exodus '04

If you like Death Cab, check out their album Plans that came out last year. It is excellent.

Also, the lead singer from both Death Cab and Postal Service did an album under the name All-Time Quarterback!. It is also pretty good but not as good.

Just picked up Guster's new one: "Ganging Up on the Sun."

It's a more polished sound for Guster and it definitely sounds Beatle-esque. But, their previous release, "Keep It Together" was superior. Although, I can't get the song "Manifest Destiny" out of my head...

I almost bought Plans. It was on sale for about 3 bucks less than Transatlanticism. But I'd heard such great stuff about TA, that I decided to spring the extra money for it. I think next time I'll get Plans.

Also, yesterday I was told about the Arizonian band Dear & the Headlights. They only have about 7 songs actually recorded on two EP-type dealies, but some of their music is pretty good. Sounds a little bit like Bright Eyes, but better. I'm not really a fan of Bright Eyes, but I liked D&tH.

That is an amazing album, got it around 2 years ago and still love it.
Plans is good, but in my opinion Transatlanticism is a much better album
