We used Air Tran our first trip...sadly, Air Tran is no longer flying locally. We are trying Allegiant this trip (they are new to our area). I will admit, we probably won't use them again, even before we've tried flying them. It's an extra $250-$400 for ground transportation from Sanford to WDW, not to mention all of their extra fees added up to be more than what Delta is now charging out of my closer airport :( Did I mention that their FB page is blown up with nothing but negatives? (I am now extremely paranoid about our flights in December.) Lesson learned.

I fly on Delta since they usually have the best time schedules for their flights. I love taking the 6am flight, then I'll be in one of the parks eating lunch by noon!

US Air from PHL. HORRIBLE. Every time we say we're going to take United or Continental from Newark but it never happens. We have had the worst experiences with them and I'm dreading our trip next month. Thank goodness it's only a 2 hour flight.

We use USAirways most of the time; Southwest if the fares are comparable. USAirways has many more flights to choose from and many are non- stop, which we prefer.

whoever has the best fare and a schedule that meets our needs. we would never take a connecting flights to MCO, so that eliminates Newark for us since we usually use SWA and AirTran. We have used AirTran and Frontier from Allentown, PA as well as Allegiant to Sanford. But we have been using SWA from PHL since AirTran stopped using ABE. We actually have some split airlines for our next three trips scheduled. We are using both AirTran and SWA from PHL. One trip Airtran (RT), the other two split, one airline down and the other back. I just hope SWA or AirTran will come back to ABE since its so close (about 5 miles).

I love Southwest because it is affordable and they offer non stop flights. I can get to the Magic as early as possible on arrival day and leave as late as possible on departure day.

Allegiant - flies direct from my home airport to Orlando (technically Sanford, 40 minutes further away than OIA). Can't beat non-stop and all the majors have a connection from here. That said, they're VERY restricted on schedules so sometimes I have to fly Delta or United. My only other choice is to drive 2 or 3 hours to a major airport.

That was always my way of thinking when we lived on the eastern seaboard. Now that we live in BFE, Montana and direct flights are practically unheard of, I think my days of lunching in the World on arrival day are a thing of the past. At least we can get to Disneyland relatively qucikly from here, though.

Air Tran - we have found that they are the best for us - great prices - will credit you if you the price goes down - and can fly nonstop to MCO from DCA which is two metro stops from us. :)

I guess it really depends on where UR from. I am from Indiana and in the central midwest I use American AirTran (ATA) they have dedicated flights just to Orlando. Right now they have a special which is about $68 one way plus taxes to Orlando. They usually have good deals.

Virgin Atlantic. Why? Brand loyalty perhaps? We're on their frequent flyer programme and they tend to be like for like price-wise with British Airways to the US. Prefer scheduled airlines. They have a good reputation, have always been great for customer service and planes (I have been on) have all been modern (or at least recently refurbished as some of their 747s are a good few years old!) and well equipped.

Southwest for me.... I live 15 mins from a smaller regional airport on Long Island - so getting a ride is easy! It may not be the cheapest, but when I factor in either asking a friend to drive me or getting a car service, I need to add $50 each way...so it tends to even out.

Southwest also had perfect times for me - either I leave on the first flight out (7 am with 930 arrival at MCO or last flight out so I can get there and wake up in my room). Flights back are also perfect - especially when they have the 8pm departure which gets me home by 11 pm.

As others have said, the bags fly free is a plus, and the flight attendants are usually a good bunch. (Plus I usually find a way to get exit row seating!)

Delta ... living in Detroit it's a hub city and because I use them so much for business, I have Diamond status, get free baggage and first class upgrades for me and my party in addition to access to the Sky Club.

Spirit out of Detroit. Just need to be flexible on your dates. With their $9 fare club I have flown 4 times in past 3 years and most paid is $300 r/t for 5 people. Have to pay for bags but at that price who cares.

AirTran has the lowest cost flights, and the best times, from Indy to MCO. We have always flown with them, and will continue to fly AirTran until Southwest finally drives a stake through their heart.

Southwest offers terrible flight times between IND and MCO. Why would I want to fly down to Orlando in the evenings and fly back to Indy in the morning? If Southwest doesn't adopt AirTran's flight schedule when they finalize the merger, we most definitely won't be flying with Southwest.

And if that's the case, I have no idea how we'll get to Florida.

AirTran is my transportation to MCO. I like it because it is affordable and has a non-stop flight. I leave Grand Rapids, MI and 2 1/2 hours later I am seeing palm trees out the window at MCO.

I'd prefer to fly one of these, I'd surely get to WDW in record time.... but until then I'll get by flying on Jet Blue It's the only direct flight to Orlando that is available at the present time.
