What about Epcot?...it's been 7 years since a new attraction?

Nothing is on the horizon...there is a possibility Epcot will go 10 full years without a major new attraction...refurbishments don't count, that is required maintenance for older rides.

Refurb of test track this year....ride opened in 1999
Refurb of living seas in 07 which opened in 1986

soarin opened in 07
Mission space opened in 03

Is there anything coming up for this park? It is starting to need some major love.

Epcot has soooooooo much real estate too. It already can handle more people than any other park. I think the park could use something massive. It still feels very empty without Imageworks and Wonders of Life.

Not to mention killing 2 everyman rides in WoM and Horizons while gutting Imagination.

Seriously, Future World was a full day park in itself in its glory days. Now it is juggle 2 fastpasses and coast through the rest by mid day.

Plus, I miss Kitchen Kabaret.

10 years without a major attraction is sad...it's like they are going to let that park die. Disney is going to have to pay the Piper at some point to keep fans interested in the parks.

Disney is going to have to spend in addition to the 500 million they used for the fantasyland expansion at least 1 billion dollars to get Epcot and DHS back up to high standards.

With the 500 million potentially going into AK for Pandora....that 2 billion total.

I love Epcot. It is my favorite park in the world.
It does still need a lot of improvement though. Wonders of Life pavilion needs something in it. Complete waste of space.
I appreciate the opening of new restaurants, but the WS could really use a new country.
I don't even count Soarin' as a new ride since it is a clone.

Disney really ought to gut SSE and replace it with a thrill ride to connect with younger audiences.

Like hell they do. I'll never forgive the vandals for falling for the reasoning above and gutting some of the greatest rides Disney has ever build. Conmsidering EPCOT's sad track record - FW once in its own right being the greatest park ever to nowadays a mostly forgettable experience - ten years without a new intervention migth very well be a blessing.

I agree, don't get rid of spaceship earth. plenty of room for new attractions without getting rid of the old.

Having said that...universe of energy needs to go. It feels so outdated, spaceship earth has a timeless story.

They really could use a new country I thought it would be nice if they did a tropical theme

SSE is the best ride hands down in the park when you take out TT. EPCOT is my fave park regardless.
Then again, with the way the execs have been thinking lately, they are probably considering us lucky to get a revamped TT.

Since we have SSE, they should also have a Space Ship Mars or Space Ship Universe. That would be pretty bad and it would fit right in at FW.

Epcot needs some Disney love. I was recently there with a friend who can't look at anything without seeing the negative. He really opened my eyes to what epcot was. Epcot is stuck in the 80's. It needs revamps on all it's architecture, new pavillions, new countries, new technology and while your at it, throw in a thrill ride :) I think they should cycle alterations. For Example...

Alter left side of Future World, Wait 2 Years, Alter Right Side, Wait 2 years then repeat.

That way we can stay updated with the best technologies!
