What about Big Hero Six?

I was a big fan of this movie. Liked it better than Wreck It Ralph. There are a couple of scenes that lend themselves to theme parks attractions including a scene that was visually similar to Body Wars.

BTW Interstellar, while perhaps a "disappointment" still has more than doubled its production budget and is far ahead of Big Hero 6 in worldwide gross so far.

I like the concept of Big Hero Six and am sick of the Frozen saturation, however, Frozen is a cultural phenomenon that is in the rarified air of having grossed over 1 billion at the worldwide Box Office. Unfortunately, BH6 is not even going to get close to that number. That is why Disney (especially TDO) is milking Frozen for all its worth, because they see immediate dollar signs (plus it falls into the princess category which is their recent focus), which is consistent with their approach in almost all areas over the last few years. It also probably means that the fad will die off more quickly because of oversaturation, but that hasn't happened yet.

You will see BH6 things, because Baymax is the type of character that will transcend the movie (something which Brave and Wreck-It Ralph probably didn't have). If used correctly, he can be a character that has appeal even to people who haven't seen the film. But I doubt you will see anything reach the level of Frozen mania.

I find it interesting that no one here is discussing the success of 'Big Hero Six'. The film annihilated Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar' and that is no small feat. Nolan is a world renowned film director with a devoted legion of fanbois who proudly proclaim, "In Nolan We Trust." https://www.facebook.com/InNolanWeTrust

Not to mention, the superstar studded cast with Matthew McCounaughey -- who is on fire right now, having just snagged the Oscar for Best Actor in 'Dallas Buyers Club'. Also, Anne Hathaway is a high profile Oscar winning actress -- just the year before for 'Les Miserables'. Matt Damon and Michael Caine are also top Oscar winning actors who were featured in the film.

On the other hand, 'Big Hero Six' is linked to Marvel but virtually unknown to most people, as well as the cast. There are no big Hollywood names to boost the film. It is also important to note that 'Interstellar' had all of the IMAX screens when 'Big Hero Six' only had Real D 3D and it still crushed 'Interstellar'. http://www.inquisitr.com/1597324/big-hero-6-crushes-interstellar-with-56-2-million-over-the-weekend/

There already exists an Oscar buzz for BH6. We can expect a knock down, drag out fight between 'The Lego Movie' and 'Big Hero Six'. http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2014/11/big-hero-6s-big-oscar-chances/382780/

Additionally, all of the critics and industry insiders are predicting BH6 to beat 'Dumb & Dumber To'.

This is a major upset and everyone here is trying to act like the film doesn't exist. If the Jimmy Choo were on the other foot and 'Big Hero Six' bombed like 'John Carter' or 'The Lone Ranger' -- it would be the number one topic in the theme park community. It's funny how everyone is quick to rip Disney apart for their failures but when Disney succeeds there is silence.

With that said, BH6 still wasn't better than 'Frozen'. I saw 'Frozen' twice, which is very rare.

As an aside, I could not figure out why I just want to squeeze Baymax so tight, he is just so adorable & cute to me. And, then it just dawned on me that Baymax is the boys version of Hello Kitty!

Awww, I love Hello Kitty so much and notice how both characters have no mouth. Hello Kitty doesn't have a mouth because she only speaks from her heart!

I would like to see a 'Big Hero Six' exhibit at Innoventions and/or a 3D/4D attraction somewhere, but I just have this nagging feeling that it will up end up like 'Up', 'Wall-E' & 'Wreck It Ralph'.
I still wonder why they had changed the characters so much.

Baymax originally was a hulkish battle bot and usually the "voice of reason" of hiro.
Wasabi was an asian japanese chef samurai.
and Fred actually had real powers (not a suit)

still, Baymax was adorable with his interactions with Hiro.

BH6 seems like it would fit well in EPCOT... I'd love to see some gigantic thrill-simulator-dark ride of BH6 take place in the Ellen pavilion! I mean... imagine AAAALLLL of that SPACE!! They'd have enough to build two identical tracks in the building.. ALSO using that very first pre-show room as a queue-line area.

Think the style of Spider Man, Escape from Gringotts or Transformers at Universal Studios.. It would be pretty darn AWESOME especially given all of that flipping space in that pavilion... They could even do it the way they're going to run a fastpass pass-only track at Hollywood Studios and then a regular standby track... That'd definitely boost that area of the park back up.

Lots of people forget that the goons of the Imagineer forum actually venture outside of their den many times a day.

And....that would fit the theme and purpose of Future World how exactly?
Not at all? Not even a little?

I didn't think so.

Actually, there's a decent bit of discussion of robotics and different technology in the film and there's even a (brief) science expo. You actually could develop a quality and on theme Future World attraction using Big Hero 6, but the issue would be the execution. WDI would almost certainly pull a Nemo and do some lame retelling of the movie as opposed to using the characters to actual educate and inspire in a way detached from the movie plot.
