What a mess

Should it be that way ideally? No, but I shouldn't be 75 years old either but somethings just happen and we deal with it.
My warranty expired 3 years ago (50), it stinks.

I hope when I am 75 I still have enough brain left to hang out on here and chat, you're inadvertently a bit of an inspiration.

That has to be fake, right? A goof? It has to be.
It’s real. It’s in the video:

Here's another video by Disney vlogger Kevin Heimbach covering the current state of WDW, which appears to be shabby as hell. Including the Monorail sign that has a huge crack in it and that's been "repaired" with...scotch tape. No, I'm not kidding. Holy crap.

as soon as Disney Wins the local political battle .. stuff can happen.. you can't invest if you are being told they suddenly after 50 years.. they don't want you just to serve one persons asperations ..

I want to say at least 2 months
Hmmm, about the same amount of time that we have had a major shakeup in RDIC. Coincidence? I think not! I would think the give a damn factor of the RDIC group is pretty low at this point and not to mention disorganized. I, like the rest of you, feel that it is certainly not a two month project, but at this point I'm willing to point a finger at a very disruptive situation brought on by outside sources. Of all the things that need attention that one isn't really a safety hazard and would necessarily be a low priority.

Being quite vocal about the fact that after 40 years of minor obsession with WDW I have probably already made my last visit and it is hard for me to care what happens there anymore. That said, however, have spent my life in solid or semi-solid services occupations, I am also fully aware that not everything can be done immediately. The difficult doesn't takes long but somethings are nearly impossible and therefore take a little longer or have unseen problems we don't know about.

I don’t think RDI has anything to do with TTC.

A temporary sign should have been up within 48 hours tops while a proper replacement was made.
That is a temporary sign and where did you come up with that time line? Is that your opinion or do you know of a written set of directives that demands that to be the absolute maximum time that is allowed for that specific problem? To my knowledge, which I admit is limited, I felt that RDIC was the group that was supposed to oversee the signage on the property. The only pure fact that we have on that particular situation is the it hasn't been replaced yet. We don't know why, we don't know what possible problem might have happened to delay the replacement. In short, we do not know what is going on or why. But we sure are quick to point an indignant finger in a general direction and let it be known what we think should have happened.

In these situations I am always reminded to a poster that was popular in the 1980's that said. When you are up to your a$$ in allegators it is hard to remember that your original intention was to drain the swamp!

No, that’s the permanent sign taped together. The timeline is what I think is appropriate for a company like Disney to have a temporary sign created and installed.

It's not that important to me but it isn't just a sign that points to the restrooms, it appears to be quite large and is hardly a priority in my opinion. And since neither of us is part of or managing whatever department makes decisions on those things, our opinion is all it is. The only part that is actual is that they haven't replaced it yet. It does not signify the end of anyone's ability to enjoy the visit. Would I like to see something like that fixed? Of course I would but since I have no clue as to why it hasn't been done yet, I refuse to automatically think that Disney has gone to hell in a handbasket. There might be a legit reason why it is taking so long. Might be along the same lines as to why so many cities haven't gotten around to patching potholes in the streets or because they are frantically making new signs for CFTOD. Signs like "SORRY DUE TO OUR INCREDIBLE INCOMPITENCE WE A SHUTTING DOWN THE MONORAIL". But to me there is a massive situation that is a far more important thing to be concerned about then a sign. It may also be due to management incompetence, but since I don't know that for sure, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe a thread like this one might generate the incentive to bump it up on the priority list.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

It's a shame there is even this discussion. There was time when WDW fixed things as they broke, changed light bulbs as they burned out and kept trash cans emptied back in the 70's -90"s. I know some will say I am looking at the past with rose colored glasses --I don't think so.
DCL.
On our last cruise a pane of glass in a door leading outside was broken sometime on embarkation day. By the time we got up the next morning it was fixed. Middle of the Atlantic to boot ...

At no point did I think that I stumbled into a Disney management group discussion but thanks for the clarification.

The idea that this is something that just can’t be fixed in 48 hours is crazy. (Fixed with temporary signage, with a new permanent sign being created)
