What’s next for Animal Kingdom?

And just think, they have those Universe of Energy dinosaurs that they could repurpose for any hypothetical new Dinoland rides!

Assuming they didn't trash 'em all, I mean (I know some of the pterodactyls are in California).

Though I'm guessing this suggestion won't appeal to all of you, what AK needs is another great all-ages ride (young children can ride, but adults also enjoy).

If you have ever been to AK with young children, then you probably noticed a lack of rides for this age group.

They get the safari, Na'vi river, and dino-Dumbo. Maybe It's Tough to be a Bug? But only if they aren't afraid of Hopper or spiders. If you've ever attempted to do a family split at AK, then you too have likely spent too much time on dino-Dumbo (while others ride the bigger rides).

I have nothing against cute triceratops, but dino-Dumbo has far less charm than Dumbo, Aladdin-Dumbo, or even the watery Seuss-Dumbo. Dinorama just doesn't make for particularly charming scenery.

As for a specific theme, I don't have anything super specific in mind. AK could perhaps benefit from something themed to Australia, South America, or perhaps Antarctica. A dark ride where we see life through the eyes of a penguin?

Maybe we could have a water ride themed to the Amazon? With a few small drops like PotC, animatronic Amazon critters slightly Small World-ish, and just a hint of a Splash Mtn-esque opportunity to get wet? Maybe we are ants, and we encounter Amazonian Archer fish squirting at us? and we have to survive rain, a flood, an anteater, a fire, and we are leafcutter ants who have to collect leaves for our fungus farm?

Perhaps AK could add a mild version of Crush's Coaster from Paris (though milder, because the Paris version has a 42" height requirement.)

This exact ride already exists 15 minutes from Animal Kingdom's gates.

In general, I think most will agree with you about having more family rides. Most people here aren't thrill ride junkies, at least not exclusively.

EE is my favorite WDW ride. Great theming, thrills and manageable wait time! It’s such an important landmark in the park, too.

It’s definitely one of my favorites. I know what Martin is talking about, the bird on a stick isn’t much of a “show scene” and that’s all there is except the projections and the disco yeti now. When the fog effects in the mountain were working and the yeti was in A mode it was a much better attraction. But when was the last time you saw the possums swinging on big thunder? (They always seem to be broken lately :( ).

Ideally, the beginning of the ride would have gone somewhere before the climb rather than just twisting around some bushes.

The larger figures didn’t make it out.

October. In Anaheim. We could do a broken / missing WDW BTM FX list to complement the others...

Expedition Everest isn’t an E Ticket?

Expedition Everest is an E on steroids.

The amount of research in that attraction is far reaching. Its scope and scale are monumental and upon opening was WDW's single most hyped attraction ever, yes a way bigger endeavor than Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain and Test Track.

I'm not saying it's the best(far from it), I'm saying it is the most bold single attraction project on property making it a deluxe, superheadlining E experience.

The pros; the outside looks pretty. It’s a visual weenie. It has a nice queue.

The cons; the ride layout is nothing spectacular. Lack of show scenes. What scenes there are are relatively poor. It fails to engage. It runs out of story.

IMHO BTM is a higher class.
So the way you explain it that means Space mountain isn't one either?

I think it's safe to say not all Es are equal to each other. Some succeed in what they set out to achieve more than others.

While not the best, I would still classify Everest as an E.

Are there any Disney attractions that have a better queue than Everest? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

It's unfortunate that essentially all of the storytelling happens in the queue and not on the ride itself, but it is an impressive, elaborately detailed queue.

Rise. FoP. Star Tours. Indy EMV...

Sorry, I just meant at WDW.

I think the Everest queue is light years beyond the one for Flight of Passage. The FoP one is pretty, but it doesn't have anywhere near the detail of the Everest queue with all of the props, antique equipment, etc. I think I like the queue more than the ride because there's so much to look at.

I haven't been on Rise yet, and last rode Star Tours long enough ago that I don't remember the queue, so those could outdo it.

EDIT: Just remembered I've only ever been in the FastPass queue for Flight of Passage which skips the regular queue (and why I was very confused about even comparing it to EE). I just looked up the regular queue, and while it is very impressive, I'd still give the nod to Everest. That's probably because the props and so on in use in the Everest queue are just more interesting to me than the Pandora stuff.

I agree with your overall point that its queue is stellar.......but I'm going with Marni in that Banshee, IJ, Star Tours and Rise of Resistance are even better.
I say Tower of Terror is better, too.

If I were judging queue just on storytelling, mood and setup for the main event alone and not weighing in eye candy visuals /sets/AA's/ then Everest is the best.

And walked. And walked. And walked...

All 640ft

To be fair, it does capture the feeling of traversing one of the long walkways connecting terminals at a large airport (thinking of the one here in Atlanta specifically). If that's what they were trying to simulate, then good job, I guess, but... why would you want to simulate that?
