Interesting....

Why space and not Dwarves mine train?
Mine Trains a lesser exeprience than the sum of its parts. Its too short. Looks nice though.
Can you please explain why the insiders are projecting this?
Social distancing.
Interesting!
I assumed Soarin' wouldn't be on your list since..
IMHO Soarin’ fails as soon as you walk into the show building. Look! A big screen! Look! A huge ride system! There’s no reveal. No secret. No punchline. Everything is given away before the ride begins. I’d have given the original a D+ though. Again, IMHO.

Yeah, I don't think Soarin' is an E. Flight of Passage is a better execution of the same concept, although I'm not sure that I'd call it an E either.

It'd hard for me to consider anything that relies entirely on a screen an E ticket, which is probably why I don't consider Star Tours one.

If the internet is right (I know I know) dwarves is 20 seconds longer. It also has complete show scenes with several AA’s. I agree it should have been longer and better... but I just don’t see how it can be argued that space is better. I mean obviously your personal list gets to be anything you want it to be... I think the steam train and river boat and horse drawn streetcars are the best attractions on property.

For me personally, on top of everything else it has going for it, Star Tours wins since the only reason you know it’s a screen is because it has to be one. You know it’s impossible to have left the park. Aside from that the story and the theming tell you otherwise. 2.0 upped the game even more, so long as the destinations are unlocked!

If I had to guess, Space is being graded on a curve due to its age. As I said above, I don't think it's nearly as impressive as EE in most ways, but EE is also 30+ years newer so it should be more impressive.

Can you please explain why the insiders are projecting this? Removing a big chunk of what makes DAK unique and different than most theme parks doesn't make sense, and I really don't think that it is going to happen. We all know the optics of stagnant buildings/attractions at Epcot, so I can't see them having the same situation at what is arguably the second best park on property.
I believe these are just reflections of basic guidelines to keep "assembled crowds" at a minimum. Just like concerts and movie theatres, anything with an audience will need to be held off until the last of the social distancing restrictions change. Probably the same for the walkway zoo - 1 person stops and everyone behind them has to stop in order to keep distant. (it doesn't work at the grocer, btw, even with one way signs. If someone stops, i will assume you're not just supposed to blow past them with your shopping cart endangering their personal space).

Space today isn’t nearly as impressive as it should or could be. My designation though is mostly thanks to the original design and intent that still holds true today. It’s still an amazing experience in an amazing building - albeit it used to be better and should be again.

But shouldn’t we be talking about a possible new TSR in DAK?

I don't think I've even been on Star Tours 2.0.

I know I've ridden Star Tours, but it was in the 90s or early 2000s. Motion simulators sometimes make me sick so I'm always a little wary. I was planning to ride it this January, but we went to DHS the day after I got horrible motion sickness at AK, and it was a morning FastPass. I decided to skip it because I didn't want to ruin the whole day if it made me sick (and my GF didn't want to ride in the first place). I really want to get on it again next trip, though.

Well anyone’s list is personal and subjective. I like space mountain, I haven’t ridden the Florida one in years but I love the one in California.

I’m just not sure how Martin is grading it so highly compared to dwarves and Everest. I can see big thunder and splash being gold standards that are hard to beat (I’d argue that rise doesn’t even beat out splash as possibly the ultimate Disney attraction...)

Do it! Pick a middle aisle to limit motion sickness.

One thing that impressed me was the use of 3D. Instead of the traditional things sticking out the screen (which happens very little) the effect is used to give the screen depth - it looks like there’s real distance beyond the cabin.

A lot of people prefer the California version for its smoothness. I prefer Florida’s. I think, from queue to exit, you get a more immersive “space” experience. Everything from the star tunnels to the lift hill make you feel like you’re in a space station. California’s queue is like walking through a shopping mall at times. I also prefer the track layout with actual drops and air time. I like a smooth ride, but I just think Cali’s Space layout is kind of boring.

I almost definitely will.

I'm planning to just take dramamine with me next trip. I tried using Bonine this trip since it's non-drowsy, but it didn't really do anything. Dramamine definitely works for me so I'll just deal with the 15 or so minutes of extreme drowsiness in order to avoid any motion sickness.

To answer the OP -

Opening.

We can argue, debate, and exchange ideas once we get to that point. Wouldn't mind a good Indy ride though. Or a "Planet of the Apes Land".
