Wetland Use Expansion Permit

Two questions that I'm not sure are the best fit for this thread, but I figured I'd get a good answer here. :)
  1. As asked above, was "Celebration North - District 5" annexed away from RCID just like Celebration? If so, that area is going to most likely all be residential, right?
  2. Why wasn't Golden Oak annexed away (or was it)? If it wasn't, don't the residents there now have a say in whatever Disney does? If it was, why do the residents have to be notified of these wetland impacts?

It seems that RCID does have jurisdiction in parts of Celebration. They just filed a permit for a new senior living facility in Celebration, and there have been a few others permits of the past couple year.

Okay, tying a few disparate threads together with this permit discussion, a bus driver told me that the permit was so they could build a new "river" on property, that they will call "the Mississippi", so they could build a 5th gate of Marvel characters, that will be all glass windows attributed to Meg. FWIW.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Wow he wasn't supposed to spill the beans...the bus driver failed to mention a monorail going to it as well along with Chester and Hester's Marvelsarousland

Disney filed a permit with the South Florida Water Management District to release the conservation easement on 252 acres of land within the RCID. The non-stripped colored areas on this map are the area that are being released from the easement.

Well...I'd expect another EPCOT area resort based on that. Not sure how it would connect, but that certainly would look to be a safe bet with that green area above the resort loop road.

Interesting find.

That new area by DHS would provide a lot of parking.
Would that be cheaper than garages?

Just so I can say I was the first, "5th Gate!" Lol! :devilish: o_O :banghead:

Seriously though, it looks like a lot more parking for the studios (light blue), not sure what to make of the green shaded areas up by Epcot.
I find it hard to imagine a new resort there, but I suppose anything's possible with Disney these days.

So, this means the colored non-striped areas can be built on without any issues? Is that what this map is showing?

DHS is now somewhat comparable to EPCOT in size. Especially if they add garages. Plenty of expansion space.

On another graphic I saw, it was clear to me that the new on-ramp would connect to a parking structure.

None of the documents related to DHS have shown what the new parking will be like. They do show the new entrance road, and an are that will be parking, but there is no indication if it will be a surface lot or garage.

I wouldn't say without any issues, they are still wetlands with the inherent difficulties in building on them, and they would still have to go through the permitting process with the South Florida Water Management District.

Yes, that's the one I'm talking about. The "are" looks similar in shape and size as other parking structures and too small to be a parking lot (for the size of the studios). So, I've drawn the conclusion that that will be a garage.
