will the 5th floor be covered or will be out in the elements?
I wonder if they will "theme" the parking lot of just leave the ugly skeleton structure visible.

open would seem logical, i dont know of any parking garages with a covered top level,

objects in mirror are smaller than they appear...

wow, I was expecting something... bigger.

Those photos are only showing the first section of the garage. Here is a picture from http://savepleasureisland.blogspot.com/ that shows two more sections that are still only on the first level.

that is a lot of construction!!!

it looks really good with the greens hanging there.
Its rare to see parking lots with green zones.

Thanks for the picture. Does sort of look like they might be trying to get one section completed first (not that I really know).

This isn't too recent a photo though, is it? Blink is still there, and the Food truck park isn't very far along.

There really isn't too much difference in the other 2/3s of the garage, They have the 2nd floor up in the middle third, I believe, and maybe a bit of the forms for the 3rd floor supports in place, but the end is still just the foundation/first floor. The majority of the progress has been on the third in front of Splitsville.

I believe this picture was from mid-April.

This is innacurate. There is major progress all around the future Disney Springs. To think that this pace will continue for another 2 years is amazing.

What is inaccurate? That progress wasn't as far along in mid-April as it is today? Where did I say anything about the pace for the next two years?

That brings up an interesting question. Will they open the garage as each section is completed by using a quarantine system, or will we have to wait until the whole thing is complete? It just doesn't make sense to me to rush one section if they aren't trying to alleviate some of the parking pressure as quickly as possible.

Don't see how they could - 1) it would just disrupt further construction and 2) you wouldn't have ramps and exits in every section.

I think you are just seeing the byproduct of the construction methodology.

You're right, I didn't take into account entry points and exits. It does seem that the other sections could catch up quite quickly though.

Stopped by Disney springs yesterday. The West garage is broken into 3 segments with the ramps being a 4th segment spanning the other 3 on the road side. The west 1/3 segment is at level 5 now and the east 1/3 segment is mostly done with level 2 and they have raised the forms on a small segment for level 3. The middle 1/3 segment of the garage has yet to reach level 2. Additionally the ramps segment which is the front 30-40ft of the garage has only had a very limited amount of work done.

Let's just hope they have a system that directs you to where empty spaces are...

I remember the parking garage at BWI airport has sensors over each parking space. When the space is empty, it shows a green light that can be seen from far down the row. When someone parks there, the light turns red. There are then signs at the end of each aisle showing how many empty spaces are in the row, and a master sign as you enter the garage showing how many spaces are available on each level. No need to go hunting.

A garage I use here in Boston has the available spaces per level totals, but as it doesn't have sensors on each parking space I presume it just uses sensors to detect when a car enters and leaves each level to subtract and add numbers as necessary.

Logan has that and it will actually tell you what level you parked at on your ticket when you pay.

that would be amazing! and would increase usable volume alot and drastically cut down on in garage accidents.
