Trip Report We're Not Stopping... Just Keep Hopping! A September 2015 Trip Report

And so... we are back. How is it that the wait for Disney is so long and exciting and then in a blink of an eye, it’s over?

I am so glad we were able to take this trip. It was a difficult year and we really needed some magic and fantasy to “reboot” our lives. We were in Disney from September 11th - 21st and stayed at French Quarters.

For those of you who do not know us...

You got some great photo pass shots - even the "quasi" photo-pass shot is great.

Sorry your morning in MK didn't go off as planned. That's a bummer - I hope things got better.

I know the feeling of annoyed family members when all you want to do is take a few pictures. :)

Just finished reading your whole report!! It sounds like your trip is off to an awesome start! I can definitely see how your youngest daughter has progress in only one year - what a difference a year (and Disney!!) can make! Your pictures are all so fabulous and everyone looks happy, as it should be.

I loved Hope's comment about the 'human girl becoming a princess ...' She totally gets the Disney magic!

Echo! Hope's comment about the "human girl becoming a princess" is what a Disney Vacation is all about! Glad she and I are on the same page! I hope the Pooh's toast was yummy! I can't wait to try it! Sorry the rest of your family aren't early birds. I'm definitely not an early bird but I make exceptions for Disney breakfasts!

Thanks! I'm happy to say that I recovered from my "bad attitude" and the rest of the day was awesome. I am not a great photographer but I'll admit I got pretty good at snapping while I was walking along - so I didn't have to stop everyone!

It is amazing how Disney brings such magic to our lives.

I was amazed that Hope was in her dresses every day - almost the whole day! But it was so magical! I really think she felt a part of everything!

I love them anyway - even if they are not early birds! lol

Thanks for reading!

Day 3 Continued...

After breakfast, we started our day in MK. It looked as though it would be a wet day too.

We went on Small World, PP & Mickey’s PhilharMagic - Hope’s favorite trio of must do’s. When we exited, It was raining pretty hard, so we made the decision that Ross would loop around again with Hope while Julia & I used our Fast Passes for 7DMT & Splash Mountain. We took our ponchos with us and ran off.

Turns out, Splash Mountain was down so they added a Fast Past to our Bands. We went on 7DMT and while it was a slight drizzle when we started out, by the end of the ride it was coming down hard! We decided to go to Carousal of Progress and then Monsters Laugh Floor.

After we went to Space Mountain. For some reason, my band worked but Julia’s didn’t??? It was weird - but the cast member just scanned her in.

We got a text from Ross and we headed towards Dumbo to meet up. Ross gets very nervous when going on Dumbo - it’s not the ride, but the playground area. He is too nervous to let Hope run around so he always tells her that they can’t play there.

On the way, Julia found a new love - Mickey Pretzels!

We ordered one and then the CM told us we would have to pay cash because the system was down. It wasn’t just raining, it had been thundering and lightning on and off all morning. But we all thought that was crazy - you mean this entire new system could go down if there was a storm blowing though?

We paid for the pretzel and rode our favorite elephant. Then made our way to ride a honey pot!

It was about 2:15 and I had made a very controversial Fast Pass for FoF. Our family does not watch parades unless they are crossing our paths. But I had a feeling that Hope would enjoy it - and yes, I wanted to see it really badly. Julia and Ross were not that thrilled with my choice - they thought it was a waste of a Fast Pass, But I knew if we didn’t have the FP, we probably wouldn’t see it. So I kept it on our schedule. We asked where to go and we made our way to the front of the park.

I think I was the only one who was excited among the three of us. By the time we settled in our spots, the rain had stopped and the sun was blaring right down on us. Since the parade started by Splash Mountain, we waited until around 3:20 to hear the music and see the floats coming our way.

Glad you've figured out a way to work around all the rain! We had a torrential downpour for an entire DAY last November. My DF says that's not normal for Orlando to get a whole day of downpours. When we got off the bus at Epcot at 9 am, it had been raining all night and the path to get in had NO less than 5 inches of standing water. This time, I'm carrying flip flops just in case I have to walk through that again.

This SCARES ME! I have money in my bank account and just use the magic band for it but we've never carried cash since we started using the magic bands. I guess we'll have to start! How long was the system down?

The GF waffles at CP were such a let down! Yuck! Luckily Chef Mickey's and Boma did NOT let me down! Soooo good.

I would have been really bummed about the ADR and missing the pre park opening crowd. When we went we waited a LONG time for the bus too. We were worried we might miss our reservation, but luckily we made it.

We don't mind the rain so much - just when it interrupts Fantasmik! lol

The system was down on and off - it seemed whenever there was a storm going on. It mostly seemed to affect the kiosks and the Disability return times. One time, it went down when my husband was buying ice cream bars - he didn't have any cash and I wasn't around. So they filled out a paper and wrote down his MB number. They gave him the ice-cream and our snack credits were deducted later that day. The pretzel person just didn't offer that option to us.

Julia said something pretty curious to me after we got home. She does of a lot of geocahing - and said whenever there is bad weather, the GPS system acts up. So she figures the MB must share similar technology and therefore make sense that it would have problems in bad weather. Maybe?

Yes - CM did much better! Haven't visited Boma yet...
