Well, Universal may think WDW announcements are pending...

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Nah...I doubt that.

Those plans looked pretty real, and they were pulled, after all.

And the pullling adds to the authenticity??????? Im starting to sound like an Oliver Stone script now

Being an old cynic, rumours are fine, but Ill start to believe things when the bulldozers move in. And even then Ill be waiting to be underwhelmed at whats been built. Its not easy being a doom n gloomer you know.

Even 74 and Lee said the blueprint was valid. However, as you said it may have been a distraction. But not to cover the Marvel deal but perhaps something else altogether.

Such as?? A distraction to an underwhelming refurb of Space Mountain?

Because those sites are not as big as ours. :D And yeah, they asked for them to be pulled.

Oct 1 is always a good day for things, but why not when they do it all at D23?

I dunno... MiceAge, LP.. they are big too... so why only WDWMagic being forced to pull the plans and no one else??? Seems more of Steve doing it on his own rather Disney coming down on him....

If they were fake...Disney wouldn't care....or....: It's a conspiracy!:D

And yeah, I got you on rumors. I just want a PR Statement. Bulldozer are good, too.

And yep, we have to stick together, us D&G's. ;)

They had to pull it, too.

I don't think so...It would still be obvious that they can do two things at once.

Con said Mice Age didn't have to remove them... So, what is it?? I know other sites still have them up though... And it shouldn't matter is a site is bigger than another.. if the plans were legit, and Disney didn't want them public, ALL sites would bave been made to pull them off... Not just 1 or 2..

Disney can't force any site to remove leaked information. You know, 1st amendment and all.

Disney requested sites remove them and Steve obliged because he has class.

As jt said, it's their choice.

Also, MC is primarily DL...That might have something to do with it.

Exactly.:)

And there's the fact that Disney is known to be kind to those sites that promote a possitive image, and take down certain things.;)

Hmmm, their property and all, I do think Disney can force a site to move the plans though...

Yep, Steve is a class act. It amazes me that he and Pumbas live on the same island.

The latest speculation on the Universal rumor is that Blackstone (which owns 50% of Universal) is going to buy the Busch Parks, or at least the Florida ones and basically create a larger Universal/Busch partnership, which may involve some new projects.

Anyway, I think this is going to be an exciting few weeks coming up, I just hope both sides try to do lots of investments in the Florida parks and let the theme park war heat up :D

So, if no one can refute that Wizarding World is a $200 Million project, then I'm going to kick back and forget about this thing having much impact on WDW.

This is just a small expansion added to an existing theme park, with one new themed E Ticket thrill ride and some shops and themed fast food joints. All for around $200 Million. That isn't an impressive dollar figure in 2009. No wonder WDW executives and planners didn't react to it.

Everyone is touting how great HP is going to be on a $200 million dollar budget, but then when rumors started flying about FL being ONLY $250 million, everyone started saying how crummy this would turn out... Can't have it both ways...

Uh you do realize most Disney attraction projects in the stateside are usually well under $200 mil right? and even then most of the money is wasted becaues of WDI's incompetence (New monorails, fantasmic dragon are examples) as well to pay the absurd salaries of some of these imagineers.

I'm pretty sure the First Amendment doesn't apply in that situation AT ALL...

Exactly.

And yet DCA's Extreme Makeover with a budget widely reported in major media to be over 1 Billion dollars sets a standard for what it takes to improve a weak theme park. If Universal were spending 1 Billion on improving and expanding IOA, then I could see WDW worry a bit.

But from what I've been able to dig up, this Wizarding World thing is a small expansion area and connected retheme of existing facilities, with one new ride added; the robocoaster themed thrill ride.

I'm sure it will be fun, don't get me wrong. But I don't see how a $200 Million expansion is going to radically alter established visitation patterns at the WDW parks.
