ok ladies, we made it thru the first challenge!
ALL your layouts were wonderful. it was great to hear how it really helped us all in a variety of ways.

are we ready for our second challenge? here we go...week 2 ends next thursday. so i guess we will end/start on a thursdays.

this weeks challenge:

theme: restaurant...if you have disney pics to do, then you must use disney themed restarant. if not, choose whatever restaurant you have.

chalk must be used. i hope everyone has chalk.

2 or more photos must be used and at least 1 of the photos must be overlaping another photo.

not too many requirements for this challenge. but i think the items will be challenging enough. LOL

Great ideas, eagles. This one is gonna be challenging for me I think, starting with finding photos!

I've never used chalk before in scrapbooking. Do you just use regular chalk or is there special chalk that you have to use?

i don't know if there is special chalk. but i would think there is, so it is photo safe.

i have about 4 packs of several different shades/colors in each pack. i bought from one of the scrapbook company's (can't remember the name) but from one that does home shows.

i only used it once though, for a card we made for hubbys mother.

but i think i will have a hard time with chalk also. the programs can do it, but i am not sure how. so this is going to hopefully teach me to use it digitally(sp?).

if you do not want to buy chalk, then perhaps you have stamp pads? we could have an alternate item. stamp pads (not to create a stamp though) but you could use the edge of paper and press into stamp pad and get a neat look that way. just some thoughts.

Thank you. I'll have to go to a scrapbook store and see if they have special chalk. I was thinking, I know I have a bunch of sidewalk chalk. But I didn't know if it would be safe to use it. :lookaroun

Okay I'm in! I'm almost done with my contest entries, they're due on Tuesday, so that should leave me enough time to start something else!

Jenn, I'm not sure about all kinds of chalk but I think they're okay. If not, chalk sets are very cheap at your lss.

On the chalk, I know our local store sold a single color for 49 cents. If you get a set with several colors, it's obviously more expensive, but not too bad. One of my favorite ways to use chalf is to do some paper tearing and then chalk the torn edge to make the tearing stand out. In fact, that's probably the main way I use chalk.

i was thinking the same thing! tearing my paper and chalking that. but.. so far i haven't done that.

i did figure out chalking on the program. and i am cracking myself up with it! i chalked mickey heads! they are so funny looking :ROFLOL:

maybe i will share the laughter and post a pic of them. i learned that i am not very steady with a mouse and drawing something.

 I'm only laughing because I'm sure mine would be much worse!

I once tried to put mickey heads on my daughter's birthday cake with one of the squeezy frosting things. Let's just say that my hubby had a good laugh at my expense and had to try to fix them.

Is everyone working on this? I finally finished all those other pages and now I'm free to scrapbook "regular stuff" again. So I'm going to start today!:)

I'm really struggling this week, both with finding the time and coming up with ideas. I finally started pulling a few items out last night, but whether my daughter cooperates with me working on it tonight will determine whether I get it done or not.

Unless I just get really ambitious, I'm not going to have time for this week. I was not home over the weekend and football practice started for my 10 year old (5 days a week). Plus school starts next Tuesday so I've been on the run. I should be back for the next one though.
Having the kids off to school will free up some time for scrapping. :sohappy:
Of course, this all depends on the little one taking a good long nap every day.

i did not want to bug anyone so, i have been waiting for someone to post something! lol

i finished something, but i don't like it, and was hoping to come up with something else, but haven't found any time this week.

i will still come up with a challenge for tomorrow, so when we all get a chance, just go ahead and post in the proper week/challenge.

we need to keep on each other ladies.

Alright, so I fell this week and bruised my tail bone, so it was hard to find time to sit and scrapbook. I didn't have any disney restaurant pics so I had to use a recent trip out at home instead. My page was really rushed and I really didn't do well with the chalk. Suffice it to say, I probably won't be using chalk anytime soon. But I did indeed find it challenging and I tried something new, unfortunately, I just don't like my page very much.

I'm slightly embarrassed, but here it is..

I think the page look great and there's nothing at all to be embarrassed about. I just got my daughter to bed so I'm off to work on mine now.

Thank you, I was just embarrassed because the chalk did not turn out the way I had wanted it to- I found it hard to work with & it looks kind of silly because I couldn't get it to all go the right way.

Good luck with yours!
