WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure to use Virtual Queue

Absolutely agree. Talk about missing the mark. Reminds me of how Smugglers Run fails to capture any of the excitement of Star Wars space battles while Star Tours does so perfectly.
Now that I have to disagree with you because I like Smugglers Run and GE but this feels like the misstep. Spider-Man has one of the best Rouges Gallery ever and we get spider bots...

Wait ..... people are wondering why the ride that replaced 'a bug's land' is geared toward children and maybe wondering why DCA can't be more adult focused? Have we really come full circle? What decade is this?
Always a Disney defender. Cause its geared towards children it has to be boring? Makes no sense.

We should have an Indy ride where we train to go into a temple instead of what we got. Think how exciting that would be...

No.. I just find it ironic in the sense. I found 'a bugs land' to be immensely boring. If the Spiderman ride is too, it won't really change much for me.

Does nuance or gray area not exist in your world? We were hoping family friendly attraction meant just that. Not to say the attraction won’t be family friendly but I don’t necessarily like to hear that it’s geared towards kids because I don’t know what that person definition of “geared towards kids” means. Is TSMM geared towards kids? If so, I’m probably good with Spidey especially if the tech is what people are saying it is and there are some actual show scenes.

Also you have to consider IP and expectations. Nobody was expecting Bugs Land to have a any “adult” rides. People were just happy that it wasn’t a fake farm with a tractor anymore. Many people however would expect or hope for a Spider-Man ride to be geared more towards teens - adults or at the very least an older age group than 6 year olds.

My post was meant moreso as a snide commentary on the desire to always find things to complain about, than the actual content of the Spiderman ride. I haven't been on it yet, so I don't really feel qualified to say one way or the other what the ride is like. I find it immensely humorous that in 20 years, DCA has gone from "not enough for kids to do" to "don't build rides geared toward children."

But if you must get hung up on what people on the internet think about the ride... by all means do. I don't think 'geared toward children' excludes adults from enjoying something, and admittedly there are a lot of things geared toward children at Disneyland that adults like.

I have no issue with what they are doing with the ride, but yeah I have to agree with this as well. It would've been nice to incorporate at least ONE villain (maybe that guy or girl is the one responsible for unleashing the bots in the first place). But I think the obvious reason is they didn't want too much comparison with Universal's SM ride (although the second you decided to make a SM ride those comparisons would still be there).

I'm still hoping the ride itself will be fun on its own. Crazy we still haven't gotten one solid review for it yet, even with CM previews.

Yes, but they screwed up and opened it years ago. It’s like saying, “but Toy Story Land also has a dark ride!” Sure. One that opened like 11 years before the land.

Having this land grand-open with Spidey as the only new ride is a misstep.

If the ride is popular on its own no one is going to care. I know we over think these things on the internet, but the average guest isn't going to care how much it resembles another ride, only if it's worth doing on its own. No one seems that bothered by all the spinners the resort has, which literally does the same thing in every ride, just in a different package.

And based on what we heard at least, this sounds like its a step up from TSM in terms of the tech in the ride and that may be enough to distinguish it.

I'll wait to see the POV to judge but if it does end up being boring then I would have to agree. This is partially why I hate when they attempt to promote a film in conjunction with a new ride because you end up with situations like this. Mission Breakout and Web Slingers opening at the same time would make this much more of an event. Maybe we could've even gotten that Doctor Strange concept had they not been so pressured to open while GOTG 2 was in theaters.

I guess to me I wasn't even seeing Marvel Land as a Bugs Land replacement. I didn't care for Bugs Land either and only liked the shade of it.

No kids for me so I can't complain that it's gone, many of my coworkers stopped going to DCA once Bugs Lans went away due to having children.
