WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure to use Virtual Queue

Since CMs previews starts today, please share any reactions/reviews of the ride. I'm sure we'll still have to wait a week for the ride POV to appear. I'm keeping my expectations low but I'm really interested how the ride looks even though we know it's a shooting game. The interactiveness and repeatability is a factor for me.
I'm sure it will be relatively fun but I'm not nearly as interested in this as I am to ride ROTR for the first time.

My wife was just talking about taking a trip to Carmel. We've driven through and stayed in Monterrey for a night on the way to San Francisco many years ago.
I took a trip to Monterrey 15 years ago. Another visit is due.

If you do end up going to Carmel, let me know your travel plans. Not sure if flying to San Jose or taking a train would be best.

Yeah but if this turns out to be better than expected, I would sacrifice an ROTR boarding pass for this even though I still wish they didn't utilize virtual queue for this ride.

The queue space might be smaller/shorter so they don't want people spilling throughout the campus and into neighboring lands.

Here's what the VQ screen looks like now -

We would probably drive, stop in Solvang and other sites along the way. Unfortunately, I'm not sure of other ways of getting there i.e. Train.

One of the worst parts of these VQ systems is that they limit how many times you can ride per day. Taking away guest choice and agency for no good reason. Moving more towards the WDW model where your whole day has to be minutely planned out in advance with no freedom or spontaneity. I don't know why the time honored method of standing in line for something is a formula that has to be messed with.
People become irritable and needy in long lines, especially if they stop moving due to the ride breaking down. They might have to pee. If it’s a hot day, they might need water to stay hydrated, so Disney has to pass out water bottles. And then they drink the water and have to pee.

A big problem with the way Disney does the virtual queue is that it doesn’t actually make any of the other lines shorter in the park. At least in this case it’s up against the RotR queue so that’ll help both. But being able to be in the virtual queue at the same time as a regular queue incentivizes everyone to join the vq which is not good.

The ultimate problem, though, is that these rides aren’t built to be able to meet the demand. About 1,500 an hour for RotR and 1,000 for this are just poor, and if boarding groups are running out in seconds, that means the ride was poorly designed.

If you've got the time, you could take the train to Salinas, then I suppose rent a car to explore Monterey peninsula area. That would be a pretty nice trip.

I have no problem with only being able to ride Rise or Web once per day. The problem is the process of getting in the VQ. Like open up the VQ for at least 3 minutes before closing it.

You know how frustrating it feels when everyone around you is cheering while you're there sitting in disappointment. It hurts.

These virtual queues (especially Rise) are just the result of poor ride design with regards to capacity. I don't care how they market it. It's a disgrace to the initial intent of how guests to Disney parks were to be treated.
Wasn't ROTR due to the technical problems and this due to social distancing and indoor queueing not allowed? There is almost no outdoor queue for WEB slingers.

While you are not wrong, I also believe the capacity issues are a big part of the problem. At least for Rise. But call me lucky because the few times I've been to the parks recently I haven't had a problem getting a Boarding Group for Rise.

Of course, because of the two new rides one is an E-ticket and the other is not. By making guests choose between them they are categorizing the rides as equal experiences, even though that is not the case. It has been implied that the Avengers ride is designed to have a higher capacity than Rise, which is one of the most encouraging things about it. Hopefully that means it could rely on a stand by queue.

Not sure if I just got lucky but I rode ROTR three times this past weekend and never waited more than 5 minutes to get into Becks ship. So in essence it was a real virtual queue. Not a virtual queue just to be called back to wait in a 40 minute line. Can it possibly stay like this when capacity is back to normal? They re still dispatching ride vehicles non stop so I don’t see why not.
